John for Model Number FFSS2614QS6A My Frigidaire Fridge uses a PureClear3 filter, number WF3CB. I have been getting 3 months out of each filter before replacing, but the last time it stopped working (water coming out slower and slower until it was just trickle) within 3 weeks. The water is already being filtered quite well upstream of the fridge, so I'm wondering what else I could do to clean the water. Filters where I am (Bermuda) are $69 each, so this is getting quite expensive!
Answer John, If you have a reverse osmosis or other type of filter on the home that is already filtering the water then it would be recommended to put the bypass plug in and not use a filter in the refrigerator. The issue of the water coming out slower sounds likely that it could be a filter head that is faulty or a issue with the water valve if the ice is still producing good cubes. Read More...
