David F. January 22, 2012 for Model Number icemaker gsi26 Our icemaker seems to be overfilling with water causing it to drain into the cube bin and freezing everything up. Is there a adjustment for the waterfill ?
1 Answer Hi David. You may be able to dismount the ice maker and remove the front cover. There is a water fill adjustment screw that is at the upper rt. It will be factory set per fill size at the factory however you can go larger or smaller. If there is constant fill then internally there is a shorted control switch which allows the water valve to be energised. So it may be best to change the ice maker itself part # 5303918344. Brian January 10, 2012 for Model Number Frigidaire side by side FRS6L9EFSS4 Ice Maker Problem.... To begin, water in door works fine. Ice maker fills with water, cubes freeze, but will not dump ice. On the ice maker is says, "you can hold the on/off switch in the "on" position for 15 seconds to manually advance the ice". The cubes will not eject because they are frozen inside the chamber. I can pour hot water on top of the ice cubes, then hold the advance switch and the cubes come out. The maker refills with water by its self and the process starts all over again. My guess is the part that heats up the ice to release it is not functioning. Is that part replaceable or do I need to replace the entire Ice Maker. Thanks for ANY help.
1 Answer Hello Brian. You will need to order the icemaker assembly 5303918344 to repair the problem you are having with the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...

Brad F. August 04, 2011 for Model Number gcd-23 This has been a great reference, my icemaker does all of this, won't get water, ice continually got stuck when it got water, and based on all the other similar complaints I'm wondering what will happen when I spend all this money on the replacement parts. Will it eventually happen all over again? Is there another suggested model that might replace this one?
1 Answer Hello Brad. You will need to check and make sure the fill tube is not frozen on the unit. If it is clear, cycle the icemaker 5303918344 and see if it is sending power to the water valve. If there is power going to the water valve and the water does not go to the icemaker, you will need to replace the valve. If there is no power coming to the water valve or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Alfonso July 30, 2011 for Model Number Mod FRS23KF6DQ2 Solenoid used to dispense ice is not working. I want to know how to replace it, in case it is the problem. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Alfonso, There are two(2) solenoids involved in the ice dispenser circuit. 1) is the shifter are solenoid, it determines wether the ice dispensed will be cubed or crushed ice, depending on what you select. It's located in the back of the freezer, behind the ice bin. 2) is the ice door solenoid, it opens and closes the dispenser door to release the cubes, then closes. What seems to be the problem ? Rm July 17, 2011 for Model Number GLHS268ZD Does the Replacement Ice Maker AP4299334 include the part number 55 which is the Valve water, Triple Solenoid. The problem that I can see is that there is no water getting to the ice maker. (note I have no problem with getting water from the refrig. So I think it may be a solenoid). Does that sound right or am I missing something. Thanks
1 Answer Hello RM. The icemaker 5303918344 does not come with the water valve 242252702. If the valve is bad, you will need to order the water valve. Cycle the icemaker and see if it is sending voltage to the water valve. If so, you will need to replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Mark April 19, 2011 for Model Number E23CSS75DSS3 Ice Maker Model Type GCD-23 I have an Electrolux Refrig/Freezer and the Icemaker seems to be acting up. (Would like to trace and repair it myself....that's half the fun of it) 1) At first it stopped altogether....I thought maybe when we were putting things on the top shelf that it was shutting off the switch by impact. 2) Sometimes it will produce ice but is not sliding into container 3) Now it's refilling the tray at various times which causes it to leak into the frezzer and out the front door. Before I replace the entire unit.....Is there a sensor/brain that controls it? Is it something that needs recycled by unplugging the unit? Any thougths/suggestions? Thanks
