Brad F. for Model Number gcd-23 This has been a great reference, my icemaker does all of this, won't get water, ice continually got stuck when it got water, and based on all the other similar complaints I'm wondering what will happen when I spend all this money on the replacement parts. Will it eventually happen all over again? Is there another suggested model that might replace this one?
Answer Hello Brad. You will need to check and make sure the fill tube is not frozen on the unit. If it is clear, cycle the icemaker 5303918344 and see if it is sending power to the water valve. If there is power going to the water valve and the water does not go to the icemaker, you will need to replace the valve. If there is no power coming to the water valve or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
