The Bake Element is an OEM replacement part for GE electric ranges. It is the internal heating element located at the bottom of the oven cavity that provides heat for baking and convection cooking functions. This heating element measures 17 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches.

Causes of a bad bake element include failure due to normal wear and tear over extended use. Exposure to spills or splatters inside the oven can potentially damage heating coils or insulators.

Symptoms of a bad bake element are:

  • Inconsistent or uneven baking temperatures
  • Element does not heat up or turns red but puts out no heat
  • Buzzing/humming sounds from beneath oven cavity
  • Failure of oven to operate or preheat as expected

This OEM part is also compatible with ranges sold under the Hotpoint, RCA and some Kenmore brands.

Roger, The model doesn't show any parts that can be used at all. If you use our grid pattern you can browse thru elements and there sizes by the pics and 1 square equals 1 inch. Without the model giving specific part numbers we cannot guarantee fitment of the part.

Hello Rock, unfortunately the manufacturer does not share that type of information with us. However the only way to replace that support would be by replacing the complete bake element for your unit. Thanks!

April, If you slide the range out and remove the back panel you will be able to get to the wire and attach it to the element. Go ahead and install the element without it being on there but take back panel off to connect it.

Hello Jim. Its not likely the thermostat. Sounds like the element failed. This is common and happens often. Just replace the element and you should be fine. Make sure you disconnect the power before you do the element replacement. Thank you.

Regina, Apparently you may have a loose wire connection in the range or a problem at the outlet. One of the power "legs" to the burner switches isn't getting to the switch(s). When you turn the oven on, the circuit is "back feeding" up to the switches, and they work. You'll need to check the breakers, and remove the back panel of the range and check the wires to the elements, terminal block and the top burner switches.
