This refrigerator ice maker assembly freezes water and automatically ejects cubes into the bin. Replacing a failed unit restores steady, hands-free ice production and helps resolve common ice maker cycling and cube-ejection issues.

  • Freezes water in its mold, then harvests and drops finished cubes into the ice bin
  • Controls fill and harvest timing for consistent cube production
  • Typical failure symptoms: no ice production, unit stuck mid-cycle, cubes not ejecting, or loud clicking/grinding from the drive
  • Works with the refrigerator's controls to pause ice making when the bin is full
What's included: Ice maker assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Remove the ice bin and any covers; unmount the old ice maker and disconnect its wiring harness
  • Transfer any brackets, covers, or guides from the old unit if needed
  • Mount the new assembly, reconnect wiring, restore power/water, and allow up to 24 hours for full ice production
Tip: Check the water inlet valve and the fill tube for blockages or ice.

For Ge Ice Maker Assembly (Refrigerator) (Part Number: OEM20501937)

John for Model Number PFCS1RKZJ SS

Hi there. I’m trying to troubleshoot as to why my GE profile PFCS1RKZJ SS French door bottom refrigerator won’t produce ice anymore. The model number of the icemake is WR30X10150. I’ve already replaced the water valve with a WR57X10032 and still it won’t produce ice. Before I consider buying a replacement icemaker, I was wondering if there are any circuit tests I can perform on the current unit. I’ve removed the current icemake from the compartment. I have a multimeter ready to see if there are any tests to perform. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

John, about the only real check you can do on this icemaker is to manually cycle the paddle back and forth 3 times to put into a manual harvest cycle, if it will not cycle and the switch is on, you will need to replace the icemaker, part number is WR30X28693

Rob for Model Number pfss5rkzhss / wr30x10150

I have an IceMaker model WR30X10150. Ice maker virtually stopped working, producing 1 tray every week. After reading your helpful replies I decided to try to tackle this myself. I thoroughly cleaned the condenser coils with a vacuum/blowgun. I removed the rear freezer compartment cover and confirmed the circulation fan is working. Cold air can be felt blowing from the lower opening in the side wall of the refrigerator. Notably, it blows into the bottom section of the ice compartment (diagram shows it is supposed to blow in the upper?). Not sure if this is a problem as it would make sense to blow the coldest air at the top where the water is. The refrigerator is set at 33°F, Freezer set at -6°F. Ice maker now produces ice, but very slowly and ice is very clear and hard with no air in it and is also hard for the crusher to grind up as most cubes are attached to each other. I have often put my hand into the tray and the water is usually not fully frozen leading me to think it is either not cold enough or there is a defrost timer stuck in the on position. I took the Ice Maker unit out and apart as much as I could, but there are really no serviceable parts that I could see and nothing was broken or damaged.

Hello Rob, You will need to verify the ice fan WR60X10330 is running. This is the one on the left-hand side in the freezer compartment.

Richard, There are several things to check. Make sure the left side refrigerator door is properly aligned to the cabinet. Make sure the air tunnels and seals on the side of the door and inner surface of the liner align and seal properly. Then you will need to check the Then you'll need to check the WR60X10330 / WR60X10330 Ice Compartment Fan(inside the freezer evaporator cover) to make sure it is running at both the high and low speeds, and not "stuck" or running intermittently. Please include an e mail address, if more assistance is needed, so we can send you the illustrated information if needed. Thanks,

Richard, For this issue it would either be an issue where one of the air ducts is blocked or you have a faulty ice fan part number WR60X10330. Also keep in mind that it could take up to 24 hours after installation of the icemaker to operate properly.

A.K. for Model Number WR30X10150

Does the “ice maker” itself make the ice or does it rely on freezer air for the ice creation? We didn’t have water hooked up for the longest time but when we got water installed and opened the freezer mechanism the switch had already been ON. It makes ice and ejects but only seems work after a day and resetting the switch and a prayer or two. There is cold air blowing out the lower hole of the refrigerator. I am assuming the upper hole is a return as it seems to be warmer.

Hello A.K., The icemaker does not produce the temperature that makes the ice. The freezer provides the temperature drop and the cycling thermostat cycles when it senses that the water in the ice mold is cold enough to be frozen, (20°F). If the icemaker was on for a long time with no water connected, the icemaker assembly has most likely failed. For a more detailed diagnosis please post a new question that includes the model number from your units' I.D. tag. This will enable us to see what configuration appliance you have in your home and we will be able to provide parts that we can guarantee will work on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Fred for Model Number Cfsp5 rkbcss

My ice maker stopped making ice. We played around with it multiple times over the course of two weeks and it started up again then stopped a day or two later. Played around with it again and it has been working the last couple of weeks however it only fills up about half way with ice. And now it stopped working yesterday. Looked at it this morning and there are only 6 icecudes made. The temperature has been at 0. Would replacing the ice maker correct this problem?

Hello Craig. You will need to order WR60X10330 for the fan needed. It is located behind the freezer back wall. If you remove it, you can replace the fan motor. Thanks.

Hello Bobby. You will need to make sure the icemaker is turned on. Also make sure the fan motor is working to bring cold air to the icemaker. If those are good then you will need to look for a frozen fill tube on the unit.
