The Icemaker is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is designed to produce ice cubes by automatically filling the ice mold with water, freezing it, and then ejecting the ice into the ice bucket. This part ensures a steady supply of ice for your household needs.

Causes of a bad icemaker can include mechanical wear and tear, electrical failures, or issues with the water supply. Over time, the icemaker’s components can degrade, leading to inconsistent ice production or complete failure.

Symptoms of a bad icemaker include:

  • No ice production
  • Small, misshapen, or hollow ice cubes
  • Ice maker not ejecting ice
  • Unusual noises from the ice maker

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Ge Icemaker (Part Number: OEM20674845)

1 Answer

Dror Ben-Ami, the icemaker you are asking about is not compatible with the 220 volt system. The refrigerator is 120 volt AC, I'm sorry, we do not carry European parts for this refrigerator.

Paul, the on/off switch is going to be specifically available as part of the ice maker assembly [WR30X10093].

Paul, due to the variances in ohms, the easiest way to test is to check for the voltage. If the valve has a verified water source on, then once the valve receives the voltage necessary for operation it should open and allow water through. If it does not allow water through when the voltage is applied, then the valve can safely be ruled as having failed.

Nancy for Model Number PSE25KSHEHSS

Our GE Profile refrigerator is slightly over 2 years old. Ice maker is no longer producing ice. Water comes out the door as usual. A month ago we had the same problem but after performing the reset procedure it worked again for a few weeks. Now the paddle arm is stuck in the "in" position. We took the ice maker part out of the frig and we can see that there are frozen cubes in the tray. We are not sure what else to check or what parts we need to buy. Thank you for your help.

Nancy, what you will want to do is check the ice maker wire harness at the brown wire to the white wire for 120v AC. If the wires have voltage with the door switch pressed in, then the issue is going to be in the ice maker [WR30X10093]. If there is not voltage, then you will want to check that there is not a break in the wiring at the back.

Dave, If the ice maker will cycle when you reset then you have power there and possibly a water valve issue. You can check for voltage [120] at the water valve when the unit cycles and if the voltage is supplied to the water valve then either the valve is bad or fill tube is frozen. If no voltage throughout the ice maker cycle then the ice maker would need to be replaced.

Nancy, Unfortunately you cannot get just the slide and would need to replace the icemaker for this issue.

Bob for Model Number GSL25JFXBLB

I think I have two problems. The auger doesn't turn when we try to dispense ice. I cannot turn the motor by hand by the "fork" that sticks out. We emptied the ice maker on Monday. It's Friday and it's still no where near full. It's making ice, but much slower than 7 cubes ever 2-3 hours. I've tried turning the ice maker off and on. I've also tried to put it into the diagnostic mode (turn on and move the arm 3x). Still not making ice any faster.

1 Answer

Bob, The auger is hard to move anyway but with force should turn. If truly seized up you would have to replace WR60X10258. Slow ice production usually is a sign of temperature rise and can be from a dirty condenser or the unit not able to defrost. You can usually spot a defrost issue if ice is on the outside of the rear wall in the freezer and give the condenser a good vacuum.
