My freezer door dispenser quit working about a year ago (no LEDs, no dispensing of ice or water, no night light, etc.). However, the icemaker itself still works. I replaced the mainboard (part# WR55X10942) in back of the fridge a few days ago but no change. It may be the dispenser board (part# WR55X10415). The connector under the left door hinge appears to be okay but I'd like to test with a multimeter. Where can I find the specs (voltage, etc.) for that connector? Also, for the connector on the dispenser board (behind panel) itself? Thanks!

Hi. Remove the freezer door hinge cover. Look inside the wire connectors (remove power first). If they are burnt or pushed out the back of the connector then you can repair it. Push them back in and test to make sure they will stay back in by trying to pull them out again. If they come out, use the same size wire (or larger) and wire nuts to extend them and bypass them. Pop out the freezer door switch part # WR23X21444. If it cannot internally close and allow the voltage to flow to the fountain control board part # WR55X10415. Temporarily put the common and the feed to the board wires together to see if the board now works. Behind the toe kick grill or inside the control panel is the tech. sheet with the wiring diagram to follow. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Thank You.

TO RECAP MY PROBLEM: Ice dispenser quit working. Ice maker makes ice. Door dispenser does not distribute ice, light up in any way, or dispense water. 1. Ordered replacement part AP3855310 (WR55X10435) Interface disp asm bk. Did not correct problem. Board checks as getting voltage. 2. ApplianceParts graciously provided 2nd replacement part no charge to correct what was anticipated to be bad 1st replacement part. Neither corrected or changed my problem. May be only cosmetic, but replacement interface boards are flat and does not have same curve contour of original interface board. Both fit into door face. Relevant on this model? I appreciate everything AppliancePartsPros has done to make my DIY fix possible. What is next step in fixing my fridge?

Charles, You should be using a multimeter, test lights can give false readings/indications. At this point, it's time to check the dispenser harness connections at the freezer door hinge and the main control board WR49X10152 on the back of the fridge. This is a low voltage circuit(12 to 20 VAC on the J4 connector on the main control board). Thanks and Good Luck

Hello George. My problem is similar. One stormy day the ice dispenser and water dispenser quit working. Ice maker works. The door control panel does not illuminate in anyway, the auger does not turn, and the cup light bulb does not turn on. My assumption is that the door control panel is broken, but with ice dispenser cup light not turning on, I wanted to ask if there is a replaceable fuse? In your expert opinion, if this indicates potentially multiple problems (example: door control board, main control board, auger motor, even light bulb) is there a preferential order in replacing electrical parts to minimize ordering just what is most likely needed? Where to start? Thank you for your recommendation. An appreciative DIYer fan, Charles

Ice maker making ice, but not dispensing ice. Water dispenser intermittent for a while, but now not working. When trying to dispense ice, the light at the dispenser would dim and the cooling fan for the refrigerator would turn off while the dispenser paddle was depressed. Once let go, the cooling fan would come back on. Unplugged the refrigerator and other problems arose (i.e., temp indicators blank). Disconnected the control panel AP3796850 and refrigerator is working fine but obviously no ice/water dispenser capability. Ordered AP3796850. Will this fix the problem or is the problem also the main board assemby AP4436216?

Hello Evon. If the board hooked up correctly, then you got the right board. If the board still does not work, you will need to replace the main board assembly WR55X10942C. Hope this helps.

Hello George. It sounds like the main board assemby WR55X10942C is bad. If you test the auger motor and it works good, but the motor has no power in the refrigerator, then the main board assembly is bad. It sends the power to the motor. Hope this helps.
