Scott Massanelli August 23, 2018 for Model Number GTDP180ED0WW I have bought an interlock switch (WD21X1026). I know the button faces downward but which side of the part is down and which side faces upward? Does it matter?
1 Answer Scott, this is a normally open switch, that means the switch button has to be pressed for it to be closed and make a circuit. You will need to position the switch so that when the belt is on, the switch is pressed and you have a closed circuit. Read More...
Staci April 18, 2018 for Model Number GE Profile PTDS650EM0WT We have a GE profile dryer that is not starting when you press the start button. I have tested the door switch and it still "clicks". The control panel still shows the time but the "sensing" light starts blinking and nothing happens. Any ideas???
1 Answer Staci, For this issue the most likely cause will be a thermal fuse that is defective or a belt switch that is faulty. Will need to test these for continuity. Read More...
James June 20, 2017 for Model Number DPSB620EC0WW GE Dryer will start but then stops within a few seconds. I replaced the bearing guides on the front panel (they were completely worn), and the Dryer worked fine for 1 load. Now same problem, hit start button and it tries to turn but stops. Drum rotates freely.
1 Answer James, Based on this information check to make sure that there is nothing caught in the blower wheel but it sounds like the motor is weak. Try taping off the light switch and turning the dryer on and if it does not start try giving the drum a turn and see if it starts. If it does then the issue will be the motor. Read More...
John February 28, 2017 for Model Number GE DPSE810GG0WT My dryer will run for 30 seconds to 1 minute and shut off if it is set for damp dry or something less. If I set it for 40 minutes or longer it heats and runs fine. Any ideas?
1 Answer John, The most likely cause for this issue will be a duct assembly which is part number WE14M119. Read More...
Matt October 14, 2015 for Model Number GSC3500N10WW Hi, the washing machine turned off mid-cycle. I cannot get it to finish the previous cycle or begin a new wash cycle. Nothing is happening. I've made sure that the outlet it is plugged into is live and the latch seems to be locked and secured. I've been told it may be the timer mechanism. Thoughts?
1 Answer Matt, You will want to check to make sure that there is power to the timer. If there is power to the timer then the issue will be caused by a faulty timer. If there is no power then the issue will be the power supply or connections at the power supply to the bottom of the unit. Read More...
Larry January 16, 2015 for Model Number DBVH5120WW Dryer will run a load fine then when second load is started will run for maybe 10 minutes then shut off and won't restart until sometime later. Don't know if this is the overheat thermostat or the motor. Everything has been clean all the way to the outside. Damp clothes indicator comes on on the control panel.
1 Answer Larry, This issue sounds like it would be caused by a motor that is overheating. You will want to check the unit to make sure that there is nothing that is causing a drag on the motor. Make sure that you also are not overloading the unit which could also cause this. Make sure that the bearings are good and the front bearings are not worn. Read More...
Debra Boyle November 23, 2014 for Model Number GLD6300L15BB I am having issues with the interlock switch area the plunger and the spring keep moving. When i hit the switches on the interlock switches one beeps but the other one doesn't does that mean it is out and i need to replace it. Can you tell me the function of them? If one is out will the dishwasher still work? It is running i just have to jimmy the plunger to reset the switch. What should i be replacing?
1 Answer Debra, If the unit is working when you jimmy the plunger then the switches would both be working. It sounds like the plunger may be the issue with the unit. Read More...
Sebastian June 12, 2014 for Model Number GE profile dishwasher The dishwasher touch panel does not light up. I checked the power to the dishwasher and also tested the door interlock switch. What else could be wrong ?
1 Answer Hello Sebastian. If there is power to the control board in the unit, but no lights, you will need to replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mark June 04, 2014 for Model Number dvlr223eg7ww Hello installing part number WD21X10261 Switch interlock. When mounted in the bottom of the can, should the button be depressed so u would have continuity. Its mounted downward ( with the button on the bottom) It just seems the button has no purpose if it forced up by the mounting. It cant pop open or anything. My main question is should there be continuity when the switch is mounted? or should the button be depressed when mounted? Thanks Mark Just one more note: there is a repair video u have out there for this part but it is a video for the door switch, not this part
1 Answer Mark, The button should on the interlock switch should face toward the idler arm on the unit so that when you engage the idler arm it will activate the switch and if the belt breaks it will allow the switch to deactive and stop the dryer from running. Read More...
Andy October 05, 2013 for Model Number WD21X10261 My Interlock switch went out. My switch has 15A 125 or 250VAC, 3/4HP VAC 1 1/2HP 250 VAC on it. Replacement switches have 1/2HP VAC on them. Will it matter that it isn't 3/4HP?
1 Answer Andy, The 1/2 Hp will work for your unit as the manufacturer changed from the 3/4HP to the 1/2HP so switch part number WD21X10261 will work. Read More...
