Greg September 10, 2012 for Model Number dcvh660eh0bb If the switch leads are disconnected what should the switch read... continuity or not?
Sue August 29, 2012 for Model Number GSD2230F1WW Hi I typed you this morning and you said I need a new switch. Is there a place on your web site to show you how to take out and put in?
1 Answer Sue, It's a bit involved, but nothing you can't handle. Just remember to turn the power off to the dishwasher before you start, and label any wires you disconnect, you'll find it a lot easier, when you start the repair procedure. Here's the basics. " DOOR COMPNENTS The door components are accessible by removing three(3) screws from each side of the inner door and one(1) screw at the top near the latch. Carefully separate the inner door panel from the outer door panel. Raise the inner door panel." You would then have access to the latch assembly WD13X10003 and the switch WD21X10261. Read More...
Marco Polo August 27, 2012 for Model Number gsd2000jo1ww My diswasher stopped when I put it in cycle, I changed the timer thinking the timer was bad, but now it does nothing. Is there something I need to change for it to work? I have power to the unit. When I push on the door next to the lock it started for a few but now nothing.
1 Answer Hello Marco Polo. You need to check and see if the interlock switch WD21X10261 is bad and needs to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mike July 23, 2012 for Model Number DWSR483EG8WW I go to start the dryer and it starts but stops when the switch goes springs back. I try to start it a couple more times and it arcs and trips the breaker. I checked the contacts on the dryer and the dryer plug itself everything looked good and solid. Do I need to replace the motor?
1 Answer Hello Mike. Based on the information you provided it sounds like the motor WE17X22217 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. If the unit runs, as long as the switch is held down, then the switch in the motor is bad and the motor is bad. Read More...
Matt March 25, 2012 for Model Number GEDBXR453ET2WW My dryer kept stopping after a few minutes, and it seemed to get really hot and smell like burning rubber. But it would start back up after a short cool down. But now it won't keep running unless I keep the knob on start; however, it doesn't seem to be getting as hot or shutting down. What part keeps the motor running AND could cause it to overheat and shutdown? Or does it sound like two separate things?
1 Answer Hello Matt. The motor switch in the motor causes the motor to continue to run. If the motor does not run, unless the start switch is held down, you will need to replace the motor WE17X10010 in the unit. Also, if the motor overheats, and then shuts off, and needs to be cooled to restart, this is a sign of the motor as well. The heating issue can be caused by the motor as well, if the switch is failing in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...

Doug July 10, 2011 for Model Number dbxr463ed2ww The Rotary switch went out and grounded out, heard pop. I have replaced the rotary switch, but the dryer doesn't work. I Have checked the door switch and it checks out ok. I have checked the interlock switch as it is mounted and it has continuity constant. How should it properly be checked? And what else should I be checking? Thanks.
1 Answer Hi Doug. On the back inner bulkhead, is your heater cover assembly. This is right behind the drum assembly. There should be a single thermal fuse on the upper right side. There are 2 more on the upper Lt. side to reference safety fuses. You always remove all power first. then you remove at least one wire to "isolate" the item that you are testing. They all should read closed. This thermal fuse on the rt. will stop all operation. This part # is WE4M137. Thank - you. Read More...
