Rob February 08, 2019 for Model Number ZISB480DRD GE side by side was having problem with refrigerator side freezing so I replaced the damper which helped a lot. The refrigerator side was getting down to 20 degrees. Now, however, the refrigerator side stays at about 32 degrees no matter what I set the temperature to. I have replaced both the upper and lower thermosensors.
1 Answer Rob, the next step would be the motherboard [WR55X10560] as this is the part responsible for reading the temperature sensed by the thermistors. Read More...
Judy January 19, 2019 I am trying to replace the temperature sensor WR02X10944 on my GE Monogram refrigerator with bottom freezer. I cannot even locate it. The freezer is disassembled. Please help! ZIC360NMCRH
1 Answer Hello Judy, The freezer thermistor is located under the WR02X10944 freezer thermistor clip. You can google the part number and click images for an illustration of what this part looks like. Read More...
Josh January 04, 2019 for Model Number GSS20IBTAWW Side by Side GE fridge section warmer than usual no matter what temp setting (about 40-42 degrees). Replaced faulty defrost heater 4 years ago. This time, freezer coils look fine (even frost pattern, not a block of ice). I can feel air coming from the fridge damper, although I don't know "how much" air I should be feeling. Is the issue most likely the fridge side temperature sensor? WR55X10025? Thank you!
1 Answer Josh, It would be a good idea to test the temperature sensor which at that temp should be around 34K ohms of resistance and if it does not check good then this would need replaced. If this checks ok then the issue may be in the damper not fully opening or a fan that is not blowing air properly. Read More...
Joshua January 04, 2019 for Model Number ZISS420DRCS Hello, my refrigerator recently started super-cooling and freezing everything despite being set on the highest temp. At the same time, my freezer is not staying as cold. I had someone come out and look at it and they are telling me my compressor is bad due to it running so hot. While the compressor may be bad/hot I don't see how that could cause the refrigerator to freeze everything (seems we'd get the opposite). My searches are pointing to a bad damper assembly. What are your thoughts? Temp of compressor is running around 195-205F. Temp between fridge and freezer where the doors meet is hot as well.
1 Answer Joshua, Check the condenser fan next to compressor to make sure that it is running as this would cause the hot between the doors and the compressor to overheat. For the freezing issue the damper would most likely be the cause for this issue. Read More...
Jesse November 21, 2018 for Model Number GSHF5KGXECWW My sides by side refrigerator section isn’t reaching the set temp. I have it set to 38 degrees but it holding around 48. The freezer section is working properly. I already tried replacing the damper assembly in the freezer. What are the next steps I should take? Thanks
1 Answer Jesse, take a look at the back of the freezer section, see if there is any ice or frost built up on the back panel. You may have defrost problem. If so, the heating elements may be bad and need to be replaced. Read More...
Larry October 08, 2018 for Model Number PFSS5NJXBSS Fridge usually works for 1 week then stops cooling. The top and bottom both rise in temperature. If I unplug it overnight and the power it back up it runs for another week. There is no frost build up on the coils. I have replaced the motherboard. Is it possible that it gets into a defrost cycle that doesn't complete?
1 Answer Larry, Yes, you could have a failed element or bimetal. Element resistance should be 31 ohms bi-metal should be closed in a frozen environment. Read More...
George September 13, 2018 for Model Number PDS20SBRBRSS Hi, I made a mistake on first question. The freezer section is at 0 and is set at 0. The food section is set to 37 but goes down to 34 degrees. Which sensor is faulty? Freezer or Food Compartment? It is a GE Profile Bottom Freezer. Could you please help me locate the faulty sensor(s).
George September 13, 2018 for Model Number PDS20SBRBRSS I have a GE Profile Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. My freezer section holds temperature but the food compartment section is cooler than it should be. Which sensor is faulty? I believe it is the food compartment section. By the drawings, it does not show where the sensor is. But I believe I have located it on the very top of fridge ceiling behind a plastic cover. Is this correct? The part number is PS34103 and manufacturer part number is WR55X10025 is this correct?
1 Answer George, You are correct. WR55X10025 is your sensor. This will need to be spliced in and use a moisture sealing grease in your splice. Read More...
Robert Strubeck August 06, 2018 for Model Number PSI23SGNABS Having a problem with the freezer at times. ill go to open the freezer, and it will not be cold and water is dripping. I have a separate thermometer in there and at that time its reading 45degrees. if I open the fridge the temp reading for the freezer is saying 0. If I leave it alone for a hour or two the freezer will start working again and get bake to 0. last time it happened I noticed some heat near the top shelf area, I'm guessing its the defrost heater. any impute would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
1 Answer Robert, check the very back of the freezer section to see if there is a ice build-up on the back panel, this would indicate a defrost problem. Check to make sure the condenser fan motor and compressor is running. Read More...
Mary August 05, 2018 for Model Number PSE25NGTCCWW Hi, I replaced the main control board on my refrigerator. After replacing the main control board, the temperature sensor does not work. I tried to adjust the temperature but the number changed to the previous number. The freezer is not cool as well.
1 Answer Mary, check for ohms of resistance at the temperature sensor, you should read 86,000 ohms at 0 degrees. If it is off, then you should replace the sensor. Read More...
