Dawn May 15, 2012 for Model Number hss251fmd Food side doesn't get cold. Freezer and back fan never stop running. Cleaned all dirt off motor seals all in good shape.
1 Answer Hello Dawn. You will need to check and see if the damper assembly WR09X10050 is opening and allowing cold air to come into the fresh food section. Also, make sure the evaporator fan motor is running properly and there is no defrost issue with the unit. Read More...
Robert M. May 09, 2012 for Model Number 363.50222000 Will this thermistor (AP3185407) work on the defrost element of model 363.50222000? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Robert. No, based onthe model number you will need to use WR50X122 for the correct defrost thermostat. Read More...
Steve May 09, 2012 for Model Number gss22ifreww Freezer coil freezing up, replaced heater, freezer works good, but fridge side warms up to 60 or 70. Should I change heater or change something else?
1 Answer Hello Steve. Test the defrost thermostat WR50X10068 it should read closed for continuity when cold. Also, test the evaporator thermistor WR55X10025. It should read around 10K at room temperature. If both of these are good, you will need to replace the mother board WR55X10942C in the unit, if the heater is new and already been replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bob April 20, 2012 for Model Number PCF25MGWABB I cannot only find one thermister in the freezer section (in top on return line of evaporator) whereas I am told there is a second one in the bottom of the freezer. Is this correct and where do I find it. I am looking at the freezer secton only and have replaced the upper thermister. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bob, There is a small plastic cover assembly at the bottom of the evaporator cover on the left side. It's inside this cover. The wires originate from the evaporator compartment, but the actual sensor is inside the plastic cover. Read More...
Troy March 21, 2012 for Model Number PDS22SCRBRSS My GE fridge model number PDS22SCRBRSS would not stay cold neither freezer nor fridge section. I unplugged and let it set overnight. While doing so I found the drip pan already full of water. After I plugged it back in, it came on and started getting cold. The compressor is really hot to the touch and it doesn't seem like the condenser fan is powering on. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be constantly running or not. From what I've read, it may be a sensor, but I'm not certain. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hi Troy. This sounds like a defrost issue.I would use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist. you in your diagnosis. The defrost thermostat needs to be closed (0 ohms meter reading) during frozen temperatures below 14°. Defrost part # WR50X10047. Un hook the defrost heater and it should be at 102 Ohms cold . Yes the condenser fan part # WR84X10055 runs with the compressor running. There is a control board part # WR55X10942C that gets the temperature constant temperature ratings from a cavity sensor part # WR55X10025. Use the supplied wiring diagram for your unit found in the controls or folded in the front lower kick plate grill. It will give you the diagnostic feature to use so you can get fault codes. It will show you the connection points of the sensor on the J-2 control board connection. This way you can unhook the thermister and check the value there in its normal condition. You can ohm it to check its values (unhooked).IT should be close to 13.2 ohms @ 0°. You can check the output value of the control board in that circuit. You can also follow the wiring diagram to individually check the defrost circuit out put of 120 vac when you force it into Test Mode – Manual Operation/Manual Defrost. To enter the test mode, press ENERGY SAVER and ADJUST REFRIGERATOR pads simultaneously for 8 seconds. The display panel will go blank. Press any pad within 15 seconds to initiate test mode. Let me know of any fault codes found iun diagnostic issues. Thank You. Read More...
Jose March 07, 2012 for Model Number pss25ngww I keep setting the temperature for this refrigerator at 37 as recommended, but it goes lower like about 5 to ten degrees cooler. I need help any ideas? thank you.
1 Answer Hello Jose. You will need to test the temperature sensor WR55X10025. It should read around 10k ohms at 77°. If it is bad, you will need to replace the sensor. If all the sensors are testing good, then the control kit WR49X10095 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Teodoro March 05, 2012 for Model Number ziss420driss My refrigerator keeps changing temperature by itself everytime, should I replace the temperature sensors and how many sensors are on the refrigerator ? Or should I change the interface assembly?? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Teodoro. If the unit is changing temperature without pressing the buttons on the unit, then you will need to replace the HMI control assembly WR55X10914. Hope this helps. Read More...
Dave March 03, 2012 for Model Number hss25gdmd ww Is the defrost sensor suppose to to show continuity both when warm and when cold? I've replaced the defrost sensor and defrost heater but the freezer coils will eventually frost over resulting in the fresh food section to warm up. The freezer remains cold. Any sugestions on what to do next to test the problem? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Dave. The defrost limiter WR50X10068 will only show continuity when cold. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board WR55X10942C is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bob February 28, 2012 for Model Number GE Profile PSC23Pssa How do I replace the temperature sensor AP3185407? Is there a diagram that shows how to get to this part and replace it. Thanks. Bob
1 Answer Hello Bob. This is an interesting question as there are three sensors on the unit with the same part number. One in on the evaporator coil, One is behind a louvered cover in the bottom of the freezer compartment, And one is in the fresh food compartment also behind a louvered cover about halfway down from the top. If you need more details, specify the sensor you need to replace and I'll be glad to help you more. Have a great day! Read More...
Steve February 25, 2012 for Model Number GBS22HCRACC The refridgerator is not cooling. I have the freezer on the bottom model. Where is the sensor located and how do I get to it? Thanks, Steve
1 Answer Hello Steve. The sensor is behind a small louvered (slotted) cover on the back wall about 3/4 of the way up. I have also seen them on the side wall but look for the cover which is listed as item # 310 on the parts explosion. Hope this was useful! Read More...
