1 Answer Terry, There will be a thermistor on the evaporator, one in the freezer compartment and one in the refrigerator section. Read More...
Victor November 06, 2020 for Model Number GSH22JSTESS hello the refrigerator side gets to cold, should i just change out the sensor in the fridge and are all the sensors the same thank you
1 Answer Victor, For this model, check the damper to ensure that it is not stuck open and if it is not then this will most likely be caused by a faulty temperature sensor. Read More...
Jula October 29, 2020 for Model Number GWE19JSLGFSS Is the temperature sensor in the refrigerator behind the led cover? I have replaced one sensor in the freezer, thermistor, defrost heater, and the evaporator fan assembly. The back panel has not frozen over again yet, the fan is spinning, the freezer is freezing but the refrigerator is still warmish. The temperature sensor in the refrigerator seems the last thing but trying to locate. Also how to remove the LED light cover if the temperature sensor is behind it? Thx
1 Answer Hello Jula, The fresh food temperature sensor WR55X10025 is in the light housing. Take a small screwdriver and pry the light lens off from the rear. It is apparent from there how to remove it. Remove the screws and drop the housing down to access. Read More...
Deby Smith August 05, 2020 for Model Number HSS221FMBWW I have replaced all three thermostat parts but the defrost is way to warm it melts everything in my freezer. The only thing I can figure is the sensor wires aren't right enough maybe.
1 Answer Deby, There is a defrost sensor on the evaporator coil of the freezer. If this has also been replaced then the issue will be the control board of the unit which is part number WR55X10942C. Read More...
Thomas July 27, 2020 for Model Number PFS22MBSBWW I had to replace the Control Panel and Compressor and now the refrigerator is running fine but the fresh food compartment is set at 37 but sometimes goes down to 36. The refrigerator seems to run a long time before it will shut off. Seems to run longer than before the Control Panel and compressor was replaced. Would the Temperature Sensor need replaced in the fresh food section? Thank You
1 Answer Thomas, thanks for the question. It is normal that the temperature can vary by a degree or even a few at any point during the operation of the refrigerator. It is the long run time that may be of concern. It could indicate a leak in the sealed system or an improper freon charge. If both of those are checked and appear ok, I would not be too concerned as 134a is not the most stable of freons and can vary from charge to charge. Read More...
Thao July 23, 2020 for Model Number GE DSHS6VGBBCSS How many temperature sensors are there in my GE Refrigerator? Where are they located? And what is the part number for each sensor? I need to know so that I can order correctly. For the damper assembly, I am going to replace it for my fridge, but I am not sure I have to order the part Duct Assembly transition together with the damper or not? Thanks
1 Answer Thao, there will be one evaporator thermistor WR55X10025 located on the top of the evaporator, one freezer thermistor WR55X10025 located on the right side wall behind a grille cover WR02X10647, and one refrigerator thermistor WR55X10025 located on the right side wall behind another grille cover. When replacing the damper assembly WR49X10251, the duct transition WR02X13091 may need to be replaced if it has become deformed or damaged. Read More...
Michele July 05, 2020 for Model Number PWE23KSKBSS Freezer compartment temperatures are all over the place (typical range when set at 0 is 17-40 degrees. Had GE techs come out 3 times, first time they told me the door was being left open (it wasn’t), then they switched out the main board (didn’t help) and last they told me they thought it was faulty door switches (the computer was telling them the doors had open/closed 600 times in 8 days- clearly wrong). Door switches all replaced and still not coming back into normal tempuratures. We just replaced the temp sensor in the back of the freezer compartment, thinking that might help- nothing. Could they have installed a bad board? Is it more likely a sealed system issue (valve stuck)? They are coming out for a 4th time and I’d like to have some intelligent questions and requests to ask. This unit is only 3.5 years old- it would kill me to have to replace it already.
1 Answer Michele, For a freezer compartment that is fluctuating between 17 and 40 and not going any lower sounds likely that there may be a sealed system issue. Possible restriction of the lines but would suggest checking to see what the coils in the freezer look like. A frost pattern where there is just a partial frost pattern would be a sealed system. Vivian Reid July 02, 2020 for Model Number PDS22MFSBWW Where is the sensor located on my refrigerator. Bottom freezer, refrigerator on top. Part #WR55X10025. Ordered from GE part #PS304103.
1 Answer Vivian, Look for an oval grill on the ceiling or sidewall and the sensor will be located under this grill. Read More...
Louis June 17, 2020 for Model Number PDS22SISDRSS Where is the temperature sensor located on my GE Profile refrigerator, I was told behind the center back panel, what I found was a part with 4 wires (red, white, black and yellow I just ordered the part, the video shows 2 white wires?
1 Answer Louis, the refrigerator thermistor WR55X10025 is going to be located at the back wall behind the sensor cover WR02X11664. There will be one on the top and one on the bottom behind the crisper drawers. The freezer thermistor WR55X10025 will be located behind a sensor cover on the right side of the freezer. Read More...
Dave June 09, 2020 for Model Number ZICP360SRASS Help,,, After completing the following and checking connections twice my freezer still ices up and refrigerator gets warm: Replaced temperature sensor on evap. coil Replaced defrost heater Replaced Evap. Thermodisc Replaced thermostat Replaced fan motor Replaced Main control board Replaced Inverter Board. I only replaced (1) temperature sensor on the evap coil. Did I miss one? Looks like there is one for the ice maker and one for the refrigerator. Help.....
1 Answer Dave, there is one thermistor WR55X10025 for the freezer cabin (located near the ice maker), and two thermistors WR55X10025 in the refrigerator section (located behind the left snack drawer). It would be recommended that these thermistors are tested for resistance to identify if there are any that are not operating properly. This can be done from the main control at connection J1. With the refrigerator unplugged and a thermometer in the refrigerator and freezer sections, one probe will go on the brown wire at connection J1 pin 5 and stay there. The other probe would go to the purple wire to test the left refrigerator thermistor, the blue wire for the right refrigerator thermistor, and the red wire for the freezer thermistor. Read More...
