Symptoms of a bad Main PCB include:

  • Cycles not starting or incomplete cycles
  • Inability to select or change cycles

Jeff for Model Number WT1101CW

The only issue this washer has is a lid lock problem. At first, the lid wouldn't lock. Downloaded a service manual for this particular model and it said, for lid lock issues, first replace the lid lock. And if that doesn't fix the problem, replace the main PCB. After replacing the lid lock, it locked but then wouldn't unlocked and still kept giving a DL error. I then replaced the main PCB. Still has a DL error come up. I know it's not the sensor/magnet that detects that the lid is up because a different error shows up for that. The manual has no suggestion after that. I've even checked the continuity of the wire harness for the lid lock and it checks okay. What am I missing? I don't think I got a bad board because it's the exact same issue with both boards as well as lid locks.

Jeff, It is possible that the board was faulty and caused the lid lock to fail and would suggest replacing the lid lock assembly again.

Imryzdad, No, you're not "missing something on my WT1101CW" . There are other "versions" of this washer, with other "options" that aren't on your machine. Some of the parts are configured to operate in all versions of the machine. Just make sure you install the harness into the same corresponding labeled connector as the original board connector.

Tina for Model Number WT1101CW

We bought ours about 4 years ago, and the other day it started locking, but throwing a dE code. It would eventually start, then stop, then start, then stop... Finally it just stopped locking at all. We've replaced the switch, but it's still throwing the code and won't lock. We have no idea what to replace to fix this as we can't find anything online beyond just replacing the switch. My husband believes this means it has to be a problem with the main board. Should we replace this, or is there another part?

Hello Tina. Make sure the wiring is good. If so, you will need to replace the board in the unit.

Hello Rick. Make sure the pressure switch is good and the air hose is not clogged. If not, and the unit drains good, you will need to replace the control board on the unit.

Connie L for Model Number LGWT1101CW washer

I purchased new a washer Model WT1101CW June 2014. After using it for nearly a year, we noticed that it would take extremely long times completing the wash cycle. I called to have a service rep come out to check it, and he did not find anything wrong. So, we continued on and finally figured out it was during the final cycle, many, many times it would go to UE. That would take hours and hours or even a second day to complete 3 or 4 washers of clothing per week. It was enough to make a preacher cuss! I kept complaining and a LG tech came out and replaced the main control part. He had talked about very light loads or unevenly distributed clothing will cause problems and to have a mixture of clothing in the wash. Now, I have done two loads. One with jeans, shirts and underwear. It went to UE. I redistributed the clothing and I completed the cycle. The second wash was a lighter load with gowns, hand towels, socks, and it continually went to UE. After the second time, I took out a small bath rug and towel. It went to UE again. I repositioned the clothing and finally it completed the cycle after going through UE four times. Then, I put in the rug and towel I had taken out, and it completed the cycle without any further problems. This is a typical wash day experiencing these problems. Any help suggested???? I was so thrilled to get this set and was recommended by Consumer Reports and now I am very, very disappointed. I've never had washer problems with my Whirlpool washers over 50 years of use and was hoping this one would last, but I am ready to junk it. Wash days should not take this long and should be able to wash all sizes of loads without problems. I'd appreciate any advice without having to pay for it because I really feel the washer is defective.

Connie, Aside from the clothes issue you will want to make sure that the unit is leveled. If it is off just slightly it can cause an off balance error. Also you may want to check the balance ring to make sure that the solution is still in it. The last thing would be possible faulty springs on the suspension rods.
