The Tub Seal Gasket is an OEM part for LG washing machines. It creates a tight seal between the inner and outer tubs during the wash cycle, preventing leaks and containing water. The gasket helps prevent water from escaping the tub.

Causes of a bad gasket can include wear and tear from repeated use over time, exposure to cleaning chemicals or extreme temperatures, or damage from handling heavy loads.

Symptoms of a bad gasket include:

  • Water leaking from the outer tub during operation
  • Excessive moisture in areas surrounding the washer
  • The tub making creaking or grinding noises
  • Decreased washing or spinning performance

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Peter for Model Number WM2277HW

I am all the way into the 16th minute of this video, and for some reason the inner basket does not want to come out completely. I banged on it with a hammer and a piece of wood like in the video but it is sticking in some place & I do not know what to do now. FYI, the outer bearing is broken, so couple of the balls are out, also the shaft is couple of inches down, it appears that I am almost there but it is not coming out. Do you have any tips that can help?

Hello Peter, If the spin basket 3045ER1006E will not come out it will most likely need replacing. This is an indication that the spinner support assembly has excessive wear and would only wear out the new bearings if re-installed.

Hello Bob! No, the seal and bearings are not listed as being compatible with your Kenmore washer model 417.4104200. Unfortunately, for the model given, the manufacturer does not offer the bearings and seal separate from the outer tub assembly, part number 131525500. Sorry about that!

Hello Joe. No, if the front tub is removed, the inner basket should come out. Make sure you have removed the rotor and stator from the unit.

Jim, Based on the description it sounds like the opening for the tub bearing has opened up and the only thing that can be done is to replace the rear outer tub.

Winfield, The silver spring does go on the outside of the lubed flange. The Seal will go in with the spring facing the bearing.
