The Tub Seal Gasket is an OEM part for LG washing machines. It creates a tight seal between the inner and outer tubs during the wash cycle, preventing leaks and containing water. The gasket helps prevent water from escaping the tub.

Causes of a bad gasket can include wear and tear from repeated use over time, exposure to cleaning chemicals or extreme temperatures, or damage from handling heavy loads.

Symptoms of a bad gasket include:

  • Water leaking from the outer tub during operation
  • Excessive moisture in areas surrounding the washer
  • The tub making creaking or grinding noises
  • Decreased washing or spinning performance

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

For Lg Tub Seal Gasket (Part Number: OEM13315920)

John K for Model Number WM300IH*A steam washer

Our 6 year old washer began to leak today....Following some clean up, I removed the back accesss panel and watched a second quick load with a cookie sheet underneith the unit to catch drips. During the rinse and prior to the drain/spin cycle....water leaked from the front of the machine...as I looked in from the back. The leak appeared to be dripping from the center, lowest portion of the tub, about in line with the pump and that electrical plexis. Total about of water estimated to be less than a gallon. I am guessing its the front main seal, your thoughts?

Hello John. Remove the top panel and make sure the dispenser is not leaking. If not, then check the door boot for cracks or tears that are causing the unit to leak water.

Hello Joe. You need to check and see if something is stuck between the inner and outer tub assembly. If not, you may need to order and replace the outer tub assembly AJQ35154204 on the unit. It may have bad bearings on it.

Hi Edward. This is a complete tear down which the best of repair tech.'s take a couple of hours with cordless tools. It is very doable and rewarding saving yourself big bucks. This makes the repair cost overall cheaper. Use a cordless screwdriver, black marker, shop vac and towels. Remove the top. Take cell phone pictures to make sure parts are properly reinstalled. Mark clips, wires, hoses and bolts as they are removed for replacement. Remove the back panel and remove the belt, main pulley belt and stator. If you can unplug the motor and pump electrical pump connector, now is the time. UN bolt the motor from the tub hangers if you can reach them from the back. Unclasp, and unbolt the green wire threaded to the back tub that attaches to the outer tub bearing housing. Be sure to re-install this safety wire before re-installing the main pulley later. Remove the door. Remove the hidden round band clip that holds the outer tub boot to the front panel. Fold in the outer boot. Remove the top back screws and slide the top back and off. Remove the inner top cross supports and the dispenser drawer. Remove the front screws holding the dispenser to the back of the controls. Remove the control panel. Disconnect the wires so they are routed back properly and do not slap on the washer tub movements. Reuse all mount clips. There may be a hidden screw above the top of the door hidden under the control panel. You are to undress all the parts off the outer tub and so you can unhook the bottom shocks and with a helper on one side of the tub, you can pull out the tub assy out the front. You have to place the top outer tub springs back in the holder mounts exactly where they were removed from (front detent or rear). Use a dab of grease on the spring upon reinstalling so they do not squeak. remove the pump and motor from under the tub once the front panel is removed. Once the tub is out and separated in 2 halves, slide the inner tub out. The back outer tub and bearing seal assy. part # AJQ35154204 come together. Bolt on a new spider shaft assy. part # 4434ER0002H to the inner tub. black molycote grease part # WP22002123 on the spider shaft so it slides onto the new outer tub bearing. Do not get too much as it will collect on the inner tub seal and you will take a chance of getting it on your clothes. Thank You.

Ali for Model Number WM0532HW

dear sir, My washer started to make loud knocking noise during spin cycle, changed the back damper after talking w/few people and reading online blogs, but problem persists. I opened the back of washer during operation, and noticed brown residue on floor from back of cover of motor and knocking noise actually coming from there(only during spin cycle). What would cause the brown leak residue? Is it bearing ball the problem, and if it is, how many bearing balls is there and do all need replaced? I'm sowehat handy, can I do the job myself? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Ali Chamoun

Ali, The brown residue and the noise, would indicate the tub seal 4036ER2004A failed, The water bypassing the seal has flushed the lubricant from the bearing assembly(s) 4280EN4001C and 4280EN4001F and now they're worn out and noisy. You'll also want to check the spider assembly shaft 4434ER0002H for major damage or discoloration, while you have the unit apart. This will require a complete teardown of the washer. Its a big project, but is a do able one. We'll send you some informaton that may help you out.

Sylvan, The "open" side, with the spring exposed goes towards the tub, The smaller ringed face goes towards the spider/bearing. I think that will get you where you need to be. Thanks and Good Luck
