Kevin for Model Number RSG257AARS

I have a DA97-11092B ice maker in a Samsung RSG257AARS refrigerator. It stopped making ice a few days ago. The ice cube trays have frozen water in them. They do not seem overly full, like its a problem of too much water. It appears the ice maker is not pushing the existing cubes out. I warmed it with hairdryer then pressed the reset button and it went through one cycle of pushing the cubes out and refilling with water. So it put the cover back one and left it alone overnight. I have the same issue this morning, frozen cubes in the tray that seems to be unable to push them free. Is there a warming element in this thing that could be defective? That would require a whole new DA97-11092B?

1 Answer

Kevin, Based on the information provided I would first check the temperature at the ice maker area to be sure it is reaching the cycle temps. 0° to 8°F. If the temp is being reached then the ice maker is faulty and would need to be replaced. If the temps. are not being reached then you would have a cooling issue.

Andrew for Model Number RSG307AARS/XAA-0001

Hello, I am in need of some advice please! My ice maker stopped making ice, so I replaced the ice maker and all was good again. Five months later, no ice. Only a little bit of water coming into the first slot of the ice maker. So, I replaced the water valve. That did not help. So I replaced the ice maker again. But that didn't help either. So current status is brand new ice maker, brand new water valve, no frozen water lines...why would my ice maker still not be getting enough water/ making ice? Is it a control board issue perhaps? Water pressure is fine and water dispenser works. Thanks for any advice.

1 Answer

Andrew, It sounds likely that the water valve is possibly not getting power to it in order to open and fill the icemaker. It would be recommended to test to make sure that there is power to the icemaker solenoid on the water valve and if there is not then the control board will be the likely cause for this issue.
