Richard July 22, 2019 for Model Number RFG238AARS/XAA Hello, Hoping someone can point me in the correct direction before spending money that may not fix my problem. My fridge works well for a few days and then stops cooling, both fridge and freezer. Everything looks as is should, lights, front display, fan etc... I unplug it for a few minutes and plug it back in and it runs for a few days until it does it again. Some times 2 days, some times 5 days, it's sporadic. Basically it acts like an old fridge that has a stuck defrost timer. From what I understand there is not defrost timer on these newer fridges. Research so far says its the control broad. I don't get any type of error code so I'm flying in the dark. Can someone help me diagnose the board/problem? Can I test the board with a voltage meter? Thanks
1 Answer Richard, It does sound like you are having a board issue, these erratic issues that don't have a code usually is the board. Read More...
Michael July 18, 2019 for Model Number RF268ABRS Hello. Refrigerator AND Freezer not cooling. Ice melting. Control panel works, light works, I can hear a fan working. Compressor not running. Engaged the diagnostic on the front panel and it gave me 88 88, then returned to main screen. Do you have a repair/diagnosis procedure that you can send me to help diagnose the issue? Thanks. Michael
1 Answer Michael, at the main control DA41-00620C you will want to test for 2.5VDC at connection CN75 at pins 2, 3, and 4 with the red probe of meter to pin 1 of CN76 with the black probe. If 2.5VDC is not shown, then the main control is not signaling the inverter board and would need to be replaced. If the voltage is there, then the next step would be to unplug the refrigerator, remove the wire at CN03 on the inverter board, and test from the blue wire to the purple wire, blue wire to white wire, then purple wire to white wire. All three tests should read 10 ohms of resistance. If the resistance is lower or higher, then the compressor is the issue. If there is no resistance at any of the checks, then the compressor would need to be checked directly. If the compressor checks good directly, then the wiring harness DA39-00154D has failed. If the compressor and wiring harness check good, then the issue would be with the inverter board DA41-00614F. If the compressor BK190CL2C/ASH failed, it would need to be replaced by a licensed technician. Unfortunately, the compressor has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Steve July 16, 2019 for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA-01 The freezer was having trouble freezing and it was hovering around 32F. The fridge appeared fine. I was recommended to order https://www.appliancepartspros.com/samsung-evaporator-fan-motor-da31-00146e-ap4136569.html. When I got home from work the fridge was flashing the temperature numbers and the fridge was not as cold (eg. 45F). Will replacing the evaporator fan solve this issue with the fridge now warming up?
1 Answer Steve, With the temperature continuing to rise it would be a good idea to check the frost pattern on the evaporator coil. If there is very little to no frost on the coils then this would be a sealed system issue which will need to have service to repair. Read More...
Dan July 15, 2019 for Model Number RS265TDRS Have a Samsung Side-by-Side RS265TDRS. (Note there is no /XAA or /XAA-02 or /XAA-03 following the model number on the inside panel.) Freezer and refrigerator are cooling. However, the refrigerator fan only comes on once, shortly after the refrigerator is turned off and back on, and never runs again. This repeats every time I cycle the power. Repairman diagnosed the problem as a bad main control board, part # DA41-00670C. We purchased and installed a new one but the problem still persists. The refrigerator fan only comes on once after a power cycle and that's it. Repairman says the thermistor checked out ok. If that's not it, what else could it be?? Red LED on power inverter board and main control board both flash twice on power-up, then go off and remain off until the compressor cuts on. Once that happens both lights stay solid red. I pulled the evaporator coil panel off and there is no ice buildup. The coils are only lightly covered in a very small amount of frost. Why is the fan only working on startup???
1 Answer Dan, the main control will stop sending voltage to the fan motor if it senses that the fan motor has too high of an RPM, or if it spins too slowly. Based on the information that has been provided, the most likely issue is going to be with the fan motor DA31-00146J failing as the main control has been replaced. Read More...
Mike July 10, 2019 for Model Number samsung rf268abrs/xaa Fridge and freezer not cooling. Fans are running but compressor is not. Light on inverter board blinking 2 times. what would the fix be?
1 Answer Mike, The manufacturer says if inverter board is blinking 2 times to Check System for restriction & refrigerant if OK replace Inverter, if same, replace the compressor. We will send you a sheet on testing, just read thru the whole page before you unplug the unit or check anything. Read More...
Javier June 19, 2019 for Model Number SAMSUNG RFG298AARS Fridge and Freezer stopped cooling after power outrage. Panel and all lights are working properly. Compressor not running, compresor fan working with no issues. I replaced Compressor Overload Protector (DA34-00004D) but still the same. While reading all questions seems that my next step is to diagnose Power Control (Inverter) Board DA41-00614F, how do I do that? Where is the fuse located in this board, could it be a blown fuse? Please recommend parts to check before I buy something that I might not need. Thanks.
1 Answer Javier, you will want to start at the main control to ensure that a signal is being sent to the inverter. At connection CN75, you will want to place the red probe of a multimeter onto pin 4 and the black probe onto pin 2 of CN32. If there is not 2.5VDC, then the main control [DA41-00620B] has failed. If the DC voltage tests at 2.5V then you will want to check the incoming voltage at the inverter (leave the black probe in place at CN32 pin 2) which would be the orange wire, and it should read the same. If it does not, then there is a wiring issue. If the voltage reads the same, then you will want to test the brown wire for 5VDC. If this fails, then there is a main control failure. If it checks good, then you will want to test the red and gray wire at the inverter for 120VAC. If this all checks good, then the failure would likely be in the inverter control [DA41-00614F]. Buddy May 30, 2019 for Model Number RH25H5611SR/AA Freezer quit working, refrigerator side is working fan and compressor running had no code on door and led blinking twice on board in rear. Now light is solid and there is a power cord emblem on front panel
1 Answer Buddy, based on the blinking light and the display, the blinking light would indicate a power issue with the power control board [DA92-00215X]. The power cord emblem signifies a voltage supply issue from the smps located on the power control board. Read More...
John May 25, 2019 for Model Number RF268ABBP The controls on the front of the fridge go crazy , temperature shows then disappears, water, ice select button sometimes works and then and dosen't. Tried to reset but it doesn't work, if I unplug it for 5 ten minutes. It will work for about ten minutes or so then start acting up again. The refrigerator still maintains its temperature freezer still maintains its temperature and ice is still working. Is it the mainboard that's bad or the inverter board
1 Answer John, This issue would be caused by a dispenser control board that is faulty and would need replaced. Read More...
David May 04, 2019 for Model Number RF28JBEDBSG/AA Inverter board light blinking 4 times no power to compress her.
1 Answer David, The 4 blinks of the light on the inverter board would indicate a locked motor on the compressor or an over RPM. This would be a issue with the compressor. Read More...
Don April 05, 2019 for Model Number RFG238AARS/XAA After power outage, my refrigerator started acting funny. Freezer and refrigerator is getting warm then cold. Now compressor will not start. Inverter board is blinking 1 time the 1 time again.
1 Answer Don, the two light blinks per every couple of seconds indicate an SPM failure in the inverter control [DA41-00614F] and that it would need to be replaced. Read More...
