Bob May 22, 2022 for Model Number DV328AEW/XAA My dryer lost heat so I ordered the heater assembly for it. The sticker on the door says 3 WIRE, so I ordered accordingly. But when I opened it up, it turned out to be 2 WIRE!! Can I use a 3 WIRE assembly on a 2 WIRE setup? It seems the 3 WIRE assembly simply has two coils running on parallel, with a common neutral. Can I just split the hot wire in my 2 WIRE setup to feed the two coils in the 3 WIRE assembly?

Shelby May 18, 2022 for Model Number dve50m7450w heating element I had to change my heating element in my Samsung dryer. Now it is over heating. Could I have my wires the wrong way? I didn’t take a picture of it and can’t find any info of which one goes where.
1 Answer Shelby, It is not likely that you wired the element wrong. The previous element could have overheated due to the same issue, which could have caused it to burn out. Check the venting to make sure that it is not clogged or restricted and if this is good then it would most likely be an issue with a relay on the control board sticking causing the heater to stay on too long. The wire failed (melted) at the connector. Do I need to buy a whole new wire harness or is there a separate part for just the wires on the electric heater?
