D August 15, 2014 I just replaced a Samsung ice maker DA97-00258J Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly. Unit makes ice but when it cycles the dump only the front ice cubes are ejected from the tray. It returns to the upright position and then fills the tray with water causing 1/2 of the volume of water to flood out. Why is 1/2 of the ice sticking to the tray? Thank you

Now the new ice maker I just now put in works perfect when I hit the test button, fills up with water, and I never see ice getting dumped. 1 Answer Hello Matthews. The Samsung icemakers work the same as others. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
