Gary, You will want to check the arm on the icemaker to make sure that it is not broken off. If broken off you would need to replace the arm part number DA61-05435A. If the icemaker arm is not broken then replace the icemaker DA97-07603B.

Hello Mala, Check for power to the icemaker in the connection point above the assembly. If voltage is present, it is possible that you have received a defective new part. If there is no voltage there, check the output from the main board.

Cindy, You will want to check the internal temperature of the freezer compartment to ensure that the temperature setting is -2 and that it is showing as a -2 in the unit. If the freezer temperature is getting too cold it will cause this issue. If the temperature is set for -2 but is getting colder than a -5 then the issue may be a sensor that has failed.

Edgar, The first thing to check would be to make sure that the water filter is turned in all the way in. If it is then the issue would be the water filter housing that would cause the hammering noise. The ports on it for the filter are not allowing water to flow properly.

Becky S for Model Number RS2577SW

My fridge and freezer work great however, it won't drop ice. It freezes in the tray but i have to manually turn tray with the black square button. It rotates like it wants to drop the ice, resets, refills, but no cubes come out. I had to shut water of because water is freezing onto shelves and wall sides. When we put it in the house it fell on freezer side door could it be a possible loose wire to that component ? My husband is an electrician, should we check this first or do you think we just need to replace it? I don't want to spend extra money on a new ice-maker if it just maybe a loose wire. Any suggestions?

Becky, The most likely cause for the issue that you are having would be that the thermistor on the icemaker is not reading that the temperature of the ice is ready to allow it to cycle. This in turn is causing the ice to get too hard and cause it to not come out. This would require the icemaker to need to be replaced.
