Steve, This issue sounds likely that the dispenser control board is faulty and would need to be replaced if when you press for ice you are getting water instead.

Janell, You will want to check to make sure that the water line is not frozen which could be causing this and try pressing the rest button on the side of the icemaker to try to get it to start back up.

George, On the side of the icemaker there is a button that you will push to cycle the icemaker but if it is not cycling on its own and has to hit reset button each time then this will be a bad icemaker assembly.

Hello George, you'll want to test for voltage at the water valve when the icemaker is calling for water. If you have voltage present, you'll need to replace the water valve part number DA74-40150H. If you don't show any voltage present at the valve when the icemaker needs to fill, you'll need to replace the icemaker part number DA97-00258C, thanks!

The ice maker stops making ice. When the "test" button is reset it will cycle and then will make ice for about a day to a day and a half, then stop again. I repeat the test button reset and it works for a short time again. I have continually used the reset with test button for 2 weeks now and this cycle continues. I appears all the mechanical parts function properly. It seems to me this is an electronic problem, but I'm not sure if its in the icemaker assembly, the main logic board, or the water valve electronics. If it just keeps up with this cycle how do I repair without just throwing money at it by replacing all the applicable parts?

Vettedriver, With the unit having to have the reset button pushed in order to cycle then this will most likely be a icemaker issue with the unit.
