Hong August 17, 2019 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAC02 My fridge problem is frozen side fine but fresh food side frozen. we ask professional person to come ,he open the fridge inside cover and clean the ice. After half year the fresh food side frozen again. This time we do the same as that gay to do but after 3 month frozen again. Now we order the temp sensor and change it, the problem did not solve ,the fresh food side still frozen. please what problem there? what parts should we to order? what should we to do?
1 Answer Hong, For this issue with the temperature getting too cold and the sensor did not correct, this would most likely be caused by a faulty main control board. Read More...
Andy P. July 15, 2019 for Model Number RS261MDRS/XAA Which sensor part number is the correct one for defrosting the evaporator coils on the refrigerator side?

Rickr June 08, 2019 for Model Number RS2534WW The refrigerator temp can't be adjusted and not cooling trying to adjust the temp but keep blinking (showing only 38 degrees blinking) do I have to replace the temp sensor? this is for the fridge not freezer (on the right side) Thank you
1 Answer Rickr, You will wan to check the frost pattern of the coil in the fresh food compartment. If there is a full frost pattern then check to make sure that there is power going to the fan motor. If the coils are impacted with ice then check the defrost sensor, defrost heater and the defrost bi-metal. If there is no frost pattern at all then this would be a sealed system issue and will need service. Read More...
Jeanene June 07, 2019 for Model Number RS265TD I believe that is the model number. The manual lists two numbers, but the other one has a couple of features my fridge does not have, unless the previous owner took them with them when they left. My problem is, about once a year, the refrigerator side quits cooling. The temp goes up to 59-61 and stays there. The freezer keeps working just fine through all this. The first year, after researching and discovering that these fridges tend to get a frozen fan, I tried to fix it by just unplugging the appliance, leaving the door open to the fridge section, and letting the fan thaw out. This was during cool weather, so I actually put a heater blowing into the back of the fridge to melt the ice. I cleaned up all the water, after two days, then once it seemed to be dried out, plugged it back in, and all was well till the next spring. I found a Youtube video showing how to take the interior cover off the fan compartment, so I had a friend help me. We took the fan section outside and let it melt, then dried it out, reconnected, and all was well until this past week. I was leaving for a week trip, so I just let it sit with fridge sitting on 61 degrees and hoped it would be ok till I returned. Freezer section still oblivious, running fine through all this. Now, I am just ready to put the thing out on the street. I am a 65 yr old female with bad back and just cant get into the fridge to take it apart, and if this is going to be an ongoing issue, I can't afford to have a service call twice a year. If anyone has any ideas for a permanent fix, please help. Otherwise, this thing is toast. I live alone, so it is not an issue of the door being opened a lot, or having too much food inside. The only thing I can think of, is possibly humidity, as it has been a rainy season, but my house is air conditioned and very comfortable, so I doubt that is really the issue either. I have never had trouble with a refrigerator before. ok, any help will be greatly appreciated. JM
1 Answer Jeanene, it is possible that the defrost sensor or the control may not be operating properly. When iced up, the defrost sensor should have a reading of 3.1VDC at connedtion CN71 pin 7 (red probe) to pin 9 (black probe). If there is a voltage reading different from this, then the defrost sensor has failed. If there is not a voltage reading, then the main control has failed. For accurate parts information, the model number from inside the refrigerator as well as the REV number would be needed. The model number and REV number can be found on the left hand side of the refrigerator section near the front. Read More...
Willard Kline May 28, 2019 for Model Number rs275acbp Freezer side works fine refrigerator side is not cooling right.
1 Answer Williard, You will want to check to make sure that the refrigerator evaporator fan is running. Also check the evaporator coils in the refrigerator behind the crisper drawers is not frosted over as this would likely be a defrost issue for the unit. Read More...
Mike May 28, 2019 for Model Number Samsung RS267TDPN/XAA I started noticing the boards in front of the refrigerator are getting wet. I found a puddle from the Freezer side, ice build up on the bottom of the freezer. I defrosted that side and it seemed to be good on the Freezer side at the moment. About the same time, I started hearing a motor sound for about 3 seconds on the fresh food side (after either opening or closing the door). Now the fresh food side is up to 53° and is not cooling. I checked and the fan motor is free to spin. It appears there is no voltage being sent to the fan. I tried replacing the main control board, but still the same issue. If I apply 12Vdc to the fan, it works; if I leave the fan running (all the time); it cools the fresh food side down, but freezes the food. When I change the temperature setting on the front of the refrigerator, it appears to modify the temperature inside. The coils inside the fresh food compartment appear to frost (good sign). Is there some sort of "sensor" inside the fan? Is there a sensor that tells the Main Computer board to apply voltage to the Fresh food condenser fan? What does the Temperature sensor on the fresh food side do? When I've performed a self test, I have gotten an E-22 error a couple of times.
1 Answer Hello Mike, The E22 error indicates the fresh food fan is not running. The manufacturer suggests to check connections to the fresh food evaporator fan motor both at the fan motor and at the control. If there are no wiring issues located, replace the fan motor DA31-00146J before replacing the main board. Read More...
Peter May 19, 2019 for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA-0001 Hello, Freezer in my refrigerator gets cold, but does not freeze. Would replacing the temp sensor be a a proper place to start with? Also, would the DA32-10109W be the correct replacement part? Thanks, Peter
1 Answer Peter, You can test the thermistor for resistance.0 degrees should give you a resistance of 29 to 30k ohms. 10 degrees is around 22k ohms and 20 degrees would be around 17.5 ohms. Also, check to make sure there is not a defrost issue where ice is accumulating and blocking the coils and restricting air flow. A sign of this is usually ice build up on the back wall. Read More...
Tommy May 13, 2019 for Model Number RF23HCEDBSR Fridge set on 44 degrees, but still freezing food. Ready to pull panel and change items that most likely are causing this. What do I need?
1 Answer Tommy, you may want to test the resistance of the refrigerator sensor by getting an accurate temperature reading of the refrigerator, then testing the resistance of the sensor at CN30 on the main control from pin 6 (white wire) to pin 1 (gray wire) on CN76. If the resistance matches up to the refrigerators actual temperature, then the main control would be the issue. A resistance chart will be sent to you to assist with testing. Read More...
Benny April 29, 2019 Samsung side by side refrigerator mod. #rsg257aars compressor and condenser fan works, it brings the temperature down on both sides, but the evaporator fans are not running. fans are ok. In fact I changed the freezer evaporator fan, maybe was ok. There was no frost when I opened the freezer side. Is any sensor or device that is preventing the fans from coming on? Please, advise. thanks.
1 Answer Benny, you may want to test the control board connection CN75 for voltage output. You will want to test for 7 to 12 VDC by placing the black probe of a meter onto pin 10 and the red probe on pin 3 and then pin 4. If there is not 7 to 12 VDC, then you have a bad control. If there is voltage, then you will want to test the fan connector from red wire with red probe to black wire with black probe. If there is not voltage at this connection (with the door switch engaged) then there is a bad wire or wire connection. Read More...
Jason February 23, 2019 for Model Number RS264ABSH/XAA My evaporator coil on the fridge keeps freezing up. The evaporator fan is running fine. The refrigerator holds a constant 34° as set. Does this unit have a defrost heater and timer on the refrigerator side? If so do you carry those parts?
1 Answer Jason, the refrigerator evaporator is not going to have a defrost heater. The refrigerator side is going to only have two sensors that are responsible for sensing when the evaporator needs to be in a defrost state. However, they appear to only be available with the evaporator assembly itself [DA96-00020Q]. You may want to test the voltage going to the sensors as well as the resistance of the sensors. If the defrost sensor from cn30 pin 8 to pin 6 reads 0 ohms or 0L, then the sensor is bad. The resistance level of the sensor also depends on the temperature of the sensor itself. The defrost sensor should read more than 25.65 k ohms at normal temperatures of the evaporator. Read More...
