Jim, Thank you for your question. You will want to clean out all the ice in the drain trough and flush the drain with hot water. You can install a drain clip DA61-14306A to help keep this from happening. You can also pull the back cover over the compressor and remove the drain tubes and there is a duckbill inside there that you can cut open some in order to allow better flow.

Hello Mike, thank you for contacting Appliance Parts Pros. I would suspect you have a thermistor reading out of range, possibly the refrigerator thermistor [DA32-10104N]. If you can get that thermistor, or any of the others that you might test, out and place it in a glace of ice water for about 5 minutes, they should read around 13.29k ohms at 0 degrees C.

Susie, it would be recommended that the door gasket DA63-06541D is inspected for any gaps or tears and replaced if necessary. Usually, this type of issue occurs from air leaking into the freezer from either an item keeping the door slightly open or from the gasket leaking air through.

My refrigerator has been freezing food for two weeks now. This problem first appeared when I noticed thawed items in the freezer. At first, I thought the door had been caught open enough to make a gap, but I never got a temperature alarm. So, I rearranged the drawer and ran a power freeze on the freezer to cool it back down. After this, everything in the refrigerator began to freeze. Since then, I have cleaned the coils and vents, unplugged the unit for 12 hours to thaw with doors open, and have run the FD and RD defrost numerous times. I have not gotten any error codes in diagnostic mode (freeze and frig power freeze buttons held down together). The refrigerator temperature display flashed a few days ago, but I cleared it by unplugging the unit to reset. I did have a similar problem three years ago. Back then, I had a home warranty, and a repair company replaced the thermostat, control board, and damper door unit. Since then, Samsung sent a company to replace the parts for the Ice maker (lawsuit recall). I know the defrost heater is working (I can hear it melting ice, and there is no ice buildup causing problems with the fan) The refrigerator is set for 44F, but the temperature inside is in the mid-’20s. Is this a thermostat problem? Whatever advice you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Paul, This issue would most likely be caused by a damper door that is stuck open or the temperature sensor in the refrigerator.

Charles, Check for proper voltage to the refrigerator, remove the control from the door, disconnect the wire harness connectors and check for frayed, loose or damaged wires. Reconnect the harness connectors to the control board and reapply power to the refrigerator. If the problem persists you would need the DA97-11778C / DA97-08872C Refrigerator control board, Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the part, it is no longer available. Thanks,

Eric, This does sound like a defrost issue but would more likely be a issue with the defrost sensor or the control board. You will want to test the defrost sensor to make sure that the sensor has proper resistance which should be 2.7K ohms of resistance at 77 degrees. If this checks ok then the control board is most likely cause.

Steve, This would actually most likely be a frozen drain line behind the wall of the refrigerator compartment. You would want to clear the obstruction and then install a heat probe DA61-14306A to correct this issue.

Dwight, If you took a lightning strike, or had a voltage "spike" it's more likely the DA92-00248B main control board circuit(s) were damaged.
