For Samsung Refrigerator Defrost Thermal Fuse Assembly (Part Number: OEM12408153)

Angela N. for Model Number RB215LABP

It all started with we noticed the ice maker was not working. A few days later the fridge was not getting cool, then the freezer was not holding either. The read out on the door says -8 and 32. I was told to unplug it for the day and see what happens when I plugged it back in. I did this then everything worked fine for about 2 days. Now the ice maker still seems to be working alright, the feezer temp is at about -8 and the readout for it says 2 degrees. The fridge internal temp is about 50 and the read out says 32. What do I need to fix this problem. Thank you in advance for your response.

Woke up in the morning and found my Samsung fridge not cooling in the freezer or fridge sections but the temperature indications on the display were still reading low. Unplugged the fridge and removed the access panels to check and see if the coils were filled with ice but they were clear. Plugged it back in and now I get dash line on the display. Far right number and upper left dash. I found that that could mean the coolselect zone sensor and I'm having trouble locating this sensor. I did an ohm reading of the sensors on both coils and they seem fine. There was a previous question where it was about the same problem but different model # and the answer was the main PCB. I'm not sure if would be the same. It seems that the fridge will run for awhile and cool but no temp. indication.

Bob, If your unit has a cool zone then the thermistor would be toward the back of the assembly. If not then the problem is the control board which will have to be replaced.

I start my refrigerator, its start fine. Freezer and upper part temp reach to -8 and 32 respectively. Its shutdown after that reaches that point. It’s not restart after temperature change to high. When I restart the refrigerator its start working again and Stop after reach the same point. Temperature change high on display after restart. As per you guy I replace the main board. After that I have same issue. Please let me know what the next step is.

Hello Papillon, Some of these need the foam and some don't. If you could please re-post with a model number, we can look it up for you and prevent future problems and possibly an additional tear down. The sensor is very particular so we need to look it up to give an accurate answer.

Hello John, The temperature sensor DA47-00095E on the evaporator may have had a short in it that caused it to go out. Replacing the sensor should take care of the problem of not defrosting.

Hello Edward, This sounds like a temperature sensor in the fresh food section is out of tolerance. I would list a part number for the sensor but the model number you listed doesn't come up as a valid model number. If you could please double-check the model number on the units' I.D. tag and re-post with the valid model number, we can go into detail for you.
