John June 19, 2016 for Model Number Model Number kenmore 10653769201 Hello - I asked the below question and got the below answer " My refrigerator was not shutting off. There was ice in the diffuser. I used a hair dryer to thaw the ice. Maybe an hour later the fridge shut off. But it came back on, and has not shut off again. Is this part defective? John for Model Number kenmore 10653769201 Answer Hello John. You will need to check and make sure both doors are sealing good on the unit. If not, it will cause moisture to get into the diffuser and cause ice to build up in there." then I asked a follow up question that looks like got missed: The doors on the fridge are misaligned. The fridge side is closing lower then the freezer side, and the rubber seal on the fridge side door appears to be bent away from the body of the fridge just slightly. Could this be my problem? If so, how do I fix these issues? Thanks.
1 Answer John, The diffuser could be the issue with the unit but you would want to check the thermistor to make sure that the thermistor resistance at room temperature should be 5K ohms. If it is off then it would need to bereplaced. Read More...

Elvin April 18, 2016 for Model Number KSRS25KGWH02 The freezer side is working fine, the fan works. The airflow to the refrigerator side has been very poor - temp aver = 50F. Noticed a few drops of ice below the diffuser. I defrosted the refrigerator for 12 hours. After turning the unit back on still poor air flow. I tapped the diffuser unit and cold air poured in and everything seemed to be working. Then I noticed this morning the temp was back above 50F and a few droplets of ice were below the diffuser once again. Is the diffuser defective?
1 Answer Elvin, The most likely cause for the issue if it worked after tapping the diffuser would be a faulty diffuser which is part number WP2209751. Read More...
Bruce February 09, 2016 for Model Number KSRA22KKWH01 Replaced the air duffuser, still no air coming out of it, fan in freezer is working fine.
1 Answer Bruce, Open the refrigerator door and feel for air from the diffuser, if very little or no air coming through then open the freezer door and see if air starts coming through. If the air starts flowing with the freezer door open then you have a clogged return air duct which is located above the upper crisper on the left wall. There will be a grill over it that you will need to remove and then you would need to clear the duct. Read More...
Jim January 01, 2016 for Model Number KSRB25fkSS00 I just had the condenser relay replaced, but the fridge only gets to about 50 degrees F. The freezer seems ok at 1.0 degrees F. At the upper rear left of the fridge seems to be where the cold air is transferred, but the air flow is weak. I have the Freezer set to a 3 on a range of 1-5, and the fridge is on 5 the coldest. When I had the relay replaced, we defrosted the whole unit for two days. No frost or ice buildup on the coils. Both fans work fine. I can't find any obstructions in the flow channel from the interior fan to the fridge side. Can it be the diffuser?
1 Answer Jim, The diffuser is a possibility but there is one other thing that needs to be checked. You will want to check the vent that is located just above the upper crisper on the left refrigerator wall to make sure that it is not being blocked by ice or food product. If this is blocked it will cause restricted air flow. Open the freezer door and see if the air flows properly through the diffuser and if it does then the air return is blocked. Read More...

Jon July 01, 2014 for Model Number Kitchen aid side by side Freezer works fridge is running at 55 I clean the condensor . No cold air comes out in the fridge. However when I open the freezer door the cold air comes out in the fridge.
1 Answer Hello Jon. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jean October 26, 2013 for Model Number KSRB25FKSS04 My air diffuser freezes up enough to make ice that builds up inside and outside the cover. And my fridge makes noise when it runs. Could it be that my diffuser went bad ?
1 Answer Jean, at this point, it's probably not a faulty diffuser WP2209751 It'll probably fail in the near future, but you have to eliminate the frost and ice first. Frost and ice inside a refrigerator/freezer is due to warm or moist air meeting cold air. So your first check needs to be at the door seals, dispenser seal and open containers in either compartment. Then start checking for electrical/mechanical failures, like a weak defrost thermostat, intermittent heater, or faulty control timer or board. Also check to see if there is water or ice on the floor of the freezer and refrigerator compartment, This would indicate a possible defrost drain issue and allows moisture to accumulate in the bottom and get distributed throughout the refrigerator. Kevin December 12, 2012 for Model Number 10650599003 I have been having a problem with my Kenmore elite model 106 50599003 fridge. First it would work for a while than warm up (freezer to 30-35 deg F) fridge to 40-45 deg F. If I taped the freezer thermostat part # 2203252 the fridge would start working again. (2-3 times a day) I checked the damper between the fridge and freezer and it was working than. I changed 2203252 and now the damper part # 2209751 is not working. Is there anything that could be creating these problems, or could it just be the damper gone now.
1 Answer Hello Kevin, It is a possibility that the damper could have just failed. The normal cause for failure is moisture getting in them and freezing causing the motor to bread the sliding door on the damper. Read More...
