Chris February 10, 2016 for Model Number 106.53652300 i have kenmore model # 106.53652300 side by side the referigerator is not cooling and divider got hot and air deffuser stock with ice ,could you please tell me what the problem ? and which parts need to replace .Thank you
1 Answer Chris, With the center divider getting hot you will want to check the condenser fan to make sure that the fan is working. If the fan is not running then you will need to replace the fan. This could potentially cause ice to get in the diffuser also. Read More...
John January 21, 2016 for Model Number 106.53603201 Kenmore refrigerator Removal of Motor only on part #2216112 air diffuser until new part arrives- how to. Thanks John
Replaced Air Diffuser 2216612 January 11, 2016 for Model Number Kitchenaid side side Our fridge and freezer stopped working. The last time this happened we had to replace the Air Diffuser We replaced the Air Diffuser but its still not cooling or freezing. Does this mean we have a faulty diffuser or how do you test if working? The fridge was off for at least a day. Does it take 24 hours to reset?

Tim D January 08, 2016 for Model Number 106.53606202 I have the Kenmore 106.53606202 side by side fridge. It appears to be cooling both the freezer and food storage fine but I'm getting heavy ice buildup on the lower vent for the vegetable bin. Also, the top air diffuser appears to be allowing air through and I notice a small amount of ice buildup at the bottom of the diffuser. Could this be the diffuser or temp sensor? The fridge does turn off after a period of time.
1 Answer Tim, With there being ice build up around the diffuser and around the crisper, you will want to look for a air leak. If none is found then it would most likely be a diffuser that is causing the ice build up. Read More...
Manuela January 04, 2016 for Model Number 2216112 i followed the video, all is pretty much the same, except i have two thermostat wires, one i put through to the freezer just like the video, but i don't know where the other is supposed to go, i assume it stays in the fridge side?
1 Answer Manuela, On the diffuser cover there is a grill looking area that the thermistor will slide down into. It will stay on the refrigerator side. Read More...
John K. December 26, 2015 for Model Number GI7FVCXWY Ran diagnostics on menu board. #3-evaporator fan was 02-on, but air baffle closed. How do I get it open?

Dan F October 17, 2015 for Model Number KSRT25CRMS01 Fridge not cold enough. Checked condenser fan - appears good, cleaned off condenser coils - were really dirty. Still not cooling fridge. Checked evaporator coils - not frosting over, also evaporator fan appears good - blowing good stream of air. Checked thermistor inside freezer and fridge - both around 3.3-3.7 ohms. Air diffuser damper closed - doesn't appear to open/respond to warm temps. Verified 115 VAC going to air diffuser motor. My troubleshooting leads to air diffuser as suspect. Do you concur?
1 Answer Dan, Yes we concur. If you have 115 VAC across the black(L1) and orange/black wires(N) then the diffuser motor should run in either direction. The WP2216112 Air Diffuser will need to be replaced. Read More...
Larry B October 29, 2014 for Model Number KSRA25FKSS00 Freezer fine plenty cold, frig warm, Evap not froze up fan running fine. Defrost and drain working right Seems like the damper closes after just an hr or less of run time and then does not open back up to send air into the refrig. section. The Sensor/Thermister is fairly new. How does it all work with the T-Stat and the board along with sensors. Sequence of operation. I really need to fix this.I tried to test the damper assy on my work bench. It will open and close with power to the right terminals. I wonder can it close on its own? I had changed the sensor about 1 mo. ago because the frig freezer was running way too cold. this did fix that problem. now 3 weeks later this new problem with the ref. section problem. Thanks larry B
1 Answer Hello Larry. The sensor communicates through the board to open the diffuser. If the sensor WP2188819 is new, then it sounds like the board 8201664 will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Carl August 25, 2014 for Model Number Kitchenaid KSRB2SFKSS02 Got the new diffuser 2216112. Looks identical to the old one except I noticed that the port to the upper connector has no electrical prongs. The lower one has 3. Does does that mean the top harness is no longer being used? What is that for? The old diffuser definitely had a broken shutter. However, after I put in the new one, the refridgerator section is too cold--like it never shuts close.
1 Answer Carl, Based on your model number it would appear that you have the wrong damper. The correct damper would be part number WP2209751. Read More...
Kyle August 25, 2014 for Model Number GSC25C6EYY02 Is it ok to disconnect the defused until the new part arrives?
1 Answer Hello Kyle, Disconnecting the diffuser will not make the unit cool properly and may make the fresh food compartment much too warm to keep anything. I would not recommend it since parts normally show up much quicker than the estimated shipping time. Read More...
