Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Membrane Switch Touch Pad (Part Number: OEM18038133)

Noelle, Unfortunately, we do not have a matrix to tell you the keypad test to check the membrane. The manufacturer says to replace the membrane and if the problem persists replace the control. You should remove the console to visually inspect the membrane and make sure it is connected good and check for discoloration in the membrane. Also, do all the buttons operate as designed. Can you cancel out when you start a cycle? Any of these issues would indicate a membrane issue. Control would be the last resort.

John, You will want to test the transformer in the unit to make sure that it is good. If the transformer is good then this will be a control board issue. The transformer part number is WP9760587 and can be tested by checking for 120 VAC at the p16 connector between pins 5 and 7 for 120 vac and if there is power there then you will test from the p16 pins 2 to 3 for 12 to 24 vac. If there is no power at this point then transformer is bad. If there is power at this point then the control board is faulty. If there is no power at pins 5 to 7 then the control board is faulty.

Tom, If the unit will not allow you to move the temp up at all even if you move it down and then back up then the issue would be a membrane switch that will be the issue. If it will move up and down but just only if below 350 then this would be more likely the control board.

Missy for Model Number RBD305PRB00

Ok on your site you have several different solutions for the same error code and I'm confused. E6 F02. Is this a heat transformer issue, a switch membrane issue or control board issue? My display is blank....not lit at all...only beeps when buttons pushed. tripped breaker, have tested all as listed no direct path to take. If it is board...which board? there are two listed under parts? My double oven is black..thank you in advance for your assistance. This is the pits.. We were able to nurse oven through Thanksgiving with display dimming until lights went out completely.... Missy in Texas

Judith, With the display being dim and the temp area not lighting up then the issue would most likely be in the transformer part number WP9760587.

Tracy, First check the voltage to the oven, at the terminal block. Check and make sure there are no loose connections. Then recheck the voltage when you program or start the oven. Sounds like the L1 power supply to the oven/control board is dropping below the minimum and the display is fading and can't produce the voltage to the element to make it cycle.
