Susan J. July 17, 2015 for Model Number NFW7200TW Amana I am getting the error code ND (no drain.) I unplugged it, checked the drain pipe to make sure it wasn't clogged or pinched. I plugged it in, then turned the power on, and press the rinse and spin cycle only button. It worked. The next load went through the entire wash cycle. Then the ND error code started again and hitting the rinse and spin cycle only worked for a few more loads. Now the ND error code occurred on the rinse and spin cycle only. I turned it off and unplugged it, waited an hour, plugged it in, turned it on, and pressed spin only. It drained and spun as usual. I couldn't find any solutions/answers about this issue. Does this problem occur when a pump is going out?
1 Answer Susan, It doesn't sound like a drain pump problem, at this point. The control board is "looking" for the pressure switch WP34001324 to reset to the empty mode/circuit within a few minutes from the start of the drain cycle. If the control doesn't see the change in the circuit, it can produce the "ND" code. First, disconnect the pressure hose 34001436 from the pressure switch and blow in the end of the hose, this will usually clear any debris or sediment that may have developed in the tube. Also check and make sure the hose isn't twisted or kinked, that can restrict the air flow. If the "ND" code persists check or replace the pressure switch. The main control board should be the last resort if the problem persists. Read More...
Dick January 02, 2015 for Model Number NFW7200TW10 Can you provide contact info for PLASET - ITALY? They are the manufacturer of the 34001340 drain pump in both my washing machine (a front loading HE Amana model NFW7200TW10) and those of several other washing machine manufacturers. What I seek ultimately is a replacement impeller kit or an "overlay" kit (a duplicate of the impeller assembly [sans the shaft] that fits directly over and can be glued to the current impeller assembly). As seems to be the case with MANY other individuals, a coin somehow got lodged in my impeller assembly and "chewed" the impeller fins off, leaving only the stub portion of the impellers. With this being such a prevalent occurrence, and with the replacement pump assembly going for over $100 (with the washing machine manufactures...you can find them for 1/2 that price on the Internet), it would seem that either the manufacturer or someone who knows something about reverse-molds and engineering, could come up with a simple, cheap (I'm talkin' a dollar or two) plastic overlay that could fit directly over and be glued to the current impeller blades.
1 Answer Dick, Unfortunately the manufacturer has not come up with a impeller repair kit and the only way to get the impeller is to replace the drain pump assembly. Read More...
Tony October 27, 2014 for Model Number MAH8700AWW How does the drain pump connect to the part that attaches to the washer? It looks like these are separate? I only need the pump but thought it was all one unit.
1 Answer Hello Tony, There is one screw that prevent the pump from moving around on the base. If removed the pump can be rotated so that the tabs can be removed from the keyhole shaped holes in the mount. The pump comes with this mount so you shouldn't have to bother with it. Read More...
Wade October 18, 2014 for Model Number MAH8700AWW Why can't I buy just the impeller for the drain pump? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Wade, I'm sorry but we can only sell the parts made available by the manufacturer. This question should be directed to the manufacturer since they control part availability. Read More...
Kelly February 09, 2014 for Model Number Inglis ifw7200tw Had a nickel stuck in drain. Pressure put a small hole in the resevoir between the plug and impeller. Impeller and pump seem to be in good shape. Ive only been able to find the whole pump assembly as one (part 34001340). Is it possible to purchase the white plastic component alone without having to purchase the pump? Thanks!!
Jeff January 31, 2013 for Model Number NFW7200TW Hello, I have an Amana washing machine, model NFW7200TW. The drain pump is bad. The part # on the pump is 62902090. Will your part 34001340 (AP4044331) interchange with mine?
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Yes, based on the model number you provided, WP34001340 is the correct pump. Read More...
Katie October 27, 2012 for Model Number Amana NFW 7200 TW This washer is about 4 years old, and it suddenly started showing "ND" on the display and dinging. I found lots of questions like this on the internet, so it must be a common problem for this washer. My husband has disassembled the pump twice, and found nothing inside of it, and he says that it looks OK (but he is an attorney, not an appliance man). I talked to your very nice lady on the phone, as I was going to order a new pump. She says that there are 2 pumps: a drain pump, and a sump pump. Which one do I need to order? We also replaced the drain hose to make sure that there was no obstruction in it. It worked for about 3 days, and has now begun dinging again. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Katie, The pumps on these are common to fail without looking or sounding bad. The impeller will separate from the motor shaft and although it sounds like it is working, it cannot pump the water. If you replace the drain pump WPW10175948, it will correct the issue. For informational purposes, the sump pump recirculates the water during the wash so the detergent doesn't wind up at the bottom of the load. Read More...
Lulu August 27, 2012 for Model Number MAH8700AWW We first had a problem with the water level it wouldn't stop leaking until we closed the water and then we discovered there was a quarter in the draining pump and I removed it, now in any cycle it when it has to stop draining the water out it says we get the code nd error then when we put it to spinning it gets to level seven some times it ends the cycle or it stays at level seven when it does finish water is left over
1 Answer Hello LuLu. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the pump WP34001340 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
James V. April 15, 2012 for Model Number nfw7200tw I get a code of nd the washer won't drain. I checked the hoses and replaced the pump and still nothing what else could it be?
1 Answer Hello James. You will need to test and see if there is power coming to the drain pump assembly WP34001340. If there is power there and the pump does not run, you will need to replace the drain pump. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
