Ken November 29, 2011 for Model Number WTW57ESVW0 Where is this switch located in the washer? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I don't think its along the top control area along with the timer and other switches. How do I get to this switch if its elsewhere? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Ken. The sensor switch WPW10248240 is located inside the control panel and has the clear pressure hose going to it. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Kelly. You can test for power coming to the water valve. If there is none and the machine is on and should bring in water, you will need to replace the sensor switch WPW10248240. If there is power there and no water, replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Mark August 18, 2011 for Model Number mvwc6esww1 Washer fills with water then just hums and starts to smell. I pulled motor and it still just hums. Got a working motor out of another unit that works. Pluged in checked cap unit still just hums. Checked all connections twice. Whats not letting motor start?
1 Answer Hi Mark. Does the motor run without the pump or mounted to the transmission? Did you check the capacitor with a cap. meter? Is there a burnt spot in the top of the capacitor? Are you getting 120vac to the motor from the timer? The capacitors had a bad series that blew open physically on top. This part # is WP8572717. Thank you. Read More...
Kate July 16, 2011 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 My washer will not take any water, the spin will work. I replaced the sensing switch #W10248240, it worked for one wash. Thanks.
1 Answer Hi Kate. Sorry About the issues. If you want to exchange the auto sensing switch, we will gladly take care of that for you. I would also replace the water valve part # WPW10175893. It has a temperature sensor included and allows proper water fill. Please make sure that both of your supply water valves are turned on to equalize pressure on the water valve, so it does not prematurely fail. Hope this helps. Thank you. Read More...

Jbo July 07, 2011 for Model Number Maytag MVWC6ESWW1 Washer fills correctly, but then will not agitate or advance to the spin cycle. If the timer is advanced manually, the washer will pump out water and spin dry then shut off. But will not advance to the extra rinse (when extra rinse is set ‘on’). There is no sound from the motor when in the wash cycle so it is not a problem with the agitator. Assume the problem is either the water level-temp sensor, the timer, or the control board connected to the timer. I am not handy with a multi-meter so I am stuck with the trial and error method of repair. Please provide your expert opinion on which part should be replaced. Thank You.
1 Answer Hi Jbo. Your model has a 2-part timer. There is a part that 'piggybacks' that is an electronic control, for your timer. This part # is WPW10104800. Your timer part # is WPW10243947.This controls the timer advancing. I hope this helps. Thank -you. Read More...
