The Front Bellow Tub Seal is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool washing machines. Located behind the washer door opening, it forms a barrier sealing in moisture. The flexible seal compresses tightly against the tub during rotation to prevent water escape through potential seam gaps.

Causes relate to years of compression from tub movement stressing the material. Mineral buildup prohibiting a flush seal also diminishes its functionality over time.

Symptoms of failure include:

  • Water puddling outside the washer around the opening
  • Mineral deposits accumulating hints at compromised sealing
  • Leakage necessitates replacing the seal to regain integrity

Main seal between the front bulkhead and the outer tub for Whirlpool-made front load washers (Whirlpool, Kenmore Elite, KitchenAid). Clamps are not included. If clamps are needed, order WP8182210 and W10902779.

This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air and some Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Front Bellow Tub Seal (Part Number: OEM18035229)

Paula, You will put the edge of the spring on and work the wire piece around the seal. Then when you get it as far as he could then you will use a pair of needle nose pliers and you will stretch the spring to get the wire the rest of the way in.

Hello. To clean out those hole, you can use a Q-tip. Just be easy and do not tear the boot. It is usually easier to soak them in hot water for about 15 minutes before cleaning them. Thank you.

Debbie, As long as the bellow is not damaged then this will just be the spring clamp that needs to be replaced.

Glenda, It sounds like the bellow is not being put on properly or the springs and clamp are not in place properly.

Hello Busy Mom. No, this is not normal. You will need to check the drain holes at the bottom of the door boot and see if they are clogged and not allowing the water to flow back into the tub assembly of the unit. Thank you.

Wes M for Model Number wo8181850

I followed your video and installation was pretty easy. No leaks but there is a rubber trough (best way I can describe it) in the bellow between the outer rim of the washer (where the door closes) and drum. I know it is supposed to be there so there is give when the drum is in motion which makes sense. My question though is the trough captures water which sits there when the washer is not in use. It probably holds almost an inch of water. We put in a old tshirt so sop it up after each use but seems like if you didn't you would get mold and an old stinky water smell. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Wes, With this issue there would be no way to correct although check to make sure that the 3 ports that are closest to the tub are not clogged up but there will still be water in it if there is no drain port on your model.

Robin, There is a space between the outer tub and the inner tub that it is very possible that socks can get into this area. If there is a clamp on the outer part of the door seal where it hooks onto the tub then this would be correct installation.

Alex, There is no way to remove the bellow and you would just need to install and it will pull them most of the way out.

Janet, The three "drain holes" in the bellows will be positioned and the bottom of the opening (6 o'clock position) so the condensation and water can drain back into the tub.
