The Bellow Tub Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This part acts as a flexible seal between the door and the drum of front-loading washers, preventing water from leaking out during operation. Note: The clamps do not come with the seal. For clamps order W10902779 and WP8182210

Causes of damage to the bellow tub seal often include regular wear and tear from frequent use, the buildup of detergents and chemicals that can degrade the material over time, and physical damage from overloading or from objects caught between the door and the drum.

Symptoms of a bad Bellow Tub Seal include:

  • Visible cracks, holes, or tears in the bellow
  • The accumulation of mold or mildew
  • Water leakage from the front of the machine
  • Clothes getting caught or snagged in the damaged areas of the bellow

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Hello Wanda, The device used to hold the door boot on is a clamp. There is no chain in the machine that I have ever seen. This has to have been in a pocket or somehow found its' way into the wash.

Hello Carl! Yes, the front bellow WP8182119 is the correct gasket used on your model MFW9700SQ0. No other parts are required unless broken on your unit now. If needed, the front clamp is part number W10902779 and the rear clamp is part number WP8182210. Here are the instructions from the manufacturer, hope it helps. Thanks! 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Turn off the water supply to the washer. 3. Remove the top cover and the console. 4. Remove the lower front access panel. 5. Open the washer door. 6. Using a small screwdriver or a pair of long-nosed pliers, pull the tension spring on the retaining wire out from around the front of the bellows, and remove the wire. 8. To remove the bellows: a) Remove the two T-20 Torx screws from the door switch assembly. b) Remove the front panel from the washer. c) Turn the bellows retaining clamp screw counterclockwise until the clamp is loose enough to remove it from around the bellows. NOTE: It may be necessary to completely remove the screw from one end of the clamp. d) Remove the bellows retaining clamp from around the bellows 8182119. e) Pull the bellows off the front of the tub. REASSEMBLY NOTE: When you reinstall the bellows, be sure to position the “weep holes”at the bottom, and align the top arrow mark at 12:00 first.

Hello Susie, The unit may not need a new bellow. You will want to check to see if the bellow is torn. If torn then you would need to replace. If it just came out of place you would have to put back in place. This would require removal of front panel to do.

Hello Corinna! The front bellow WP8182119 is a thick rubber gasket. Unfortunately, we do not have the specs to verify if it is latex-free. This is the original gasket and will be made out of the same material of your current bellow. Thanks.

Hello Peso, To replace the bellow WP8182119 is the only part needed. The wire band that came loose goes around the bezel of the opening of the door where the bellow goes. The spring part goes down at the bottom and you work the band around keeping the spring in place.

Kevin, A model and serial number would be greatly appreciated, We can be more precise in assisting you. Several things to check, first. If you washer was updated, there should be a drain opening in the center bottom of the boot(6 o'clock position) that could be clogged with debris, lint, etc. Check the water level in the tub, start the washer, with nothing in the tub, allow the washer to fill and wash for a few minutes, pause the washer and open the doorwhen it unlocks. Using a ruller , measure the water level at the rear of the tub(deepest area) it should measure 3 to 4 inches deep(give or take 1/2 an inch). allow the washer to progress through the cycle to the rinse, allow the washer to fill and wash a few minutes, the water level should increase by 1 inch in the rinse cycle. If all's OK, then you will need to check for the proper detergent and softner usage, you may have a sudsing/foaming issue.
