Jan Gee December 14, 2015 for Model Number MAV5000AWW Will not spin the water all the way out they are still wet when it is done spinning. We checked the pump is fine the hose isn't clogged what could be wrong?
1 Answer Jan, The most likely cause for the unit not spinning all the water out would be that the tub is getting off balance from weak springs or the thrust bearing is going bad and needs to be replaced. Read More...

Mary April 22, 2013 for Model Number Maytag Atlantis MAV6451AWW My washer is not spinning my clothes dry enough. They are still to wet after spin cycle. I moved my washer away from wall and there is a lot of black powdery residue I assume is coming from the belt. Is this normal and could the belts need replaced and that is why the spin cycle is not affective?
1 Answer Mary, The residue would be partially from the belt. You will also want to check your pump to make sure that the bearings are good and that there is no clog in the pump. Read More...
Mawcmw February 17, 2013 for Model Number MAV7600AWW Just before the spin cycle, the washer made a sound like it was going to begin the spin cycle, but the washer just went dead. Tried moving it to a different cycle but still nothing. After a few minutes the washer actually would turn on but still wouldn't go through any cycles. It will just hum like something is locked up. I was told it needed a new pump and belt. Does anyone know if this is actually what is needed.
1 Answer Hello Mawcmw, You can tilt unit back and take belt off. Once belt is off you can try to turn the pump pulley. If it will not turn then the pump would need to be replaced. If the belt is cracked or damaged then you would want to replace belt. Read More...

Theresa January 05, 2013 for Model Number MAV6000AWW Washer makes horribly loud noise when spinning ........ sounds like it's ready to take off and go through the roof ---- repairman changed "Thrust B. Kit" and Belt ----- no change, washer still extremely noisy & repairman unable to find cause. PLEASE HELP !!!
1 Answer Theresa, If the repairman installed the thrust bearing and belt, and adjusted them properly, then the issue would be in the tub bearing assembly W10219156 or the gearcase bearing 35-6615. The bearing failure is usually preceded by a water leak from the washer, which washes the lubricant from the bearing and causes them to make noise. Read More...
Ewt February 13, 2012 for Model Number M7600AWW During the spin cycle the washing machine makes a loud thumping noise like it is out of balance and travels across the floor. It also leaves an extreme amount of black soot all over the base of the machine and the floor.
1 Answer Hello Etw. You will need to look for plastic shavings in the bottom of the machine. If there are some, the snubber ring WP21002026 will need to be replaced to balance the machine. Hope this helps. Read More...
Rudy January 13, 2012 for Model Number MAV6000AWW Maytag model Number MAV6000AWW. Agitation is slow and the water will not drain during the spin cycle. If I reset the spin cycle, than it might spin properly. Also, I notice water behine the machine on the floor.
1 Answer Rudy, Does the washer make a grinding or chirping noise ? You may have a seizing bearing in the drain pump or a loose impeller. Also check and make sure the motor assembly "slides" free and easy on the base plate assembly, with the drive belt removed. The water on the floor, could be due to dripping faucets or hoses and a slow drain pipe. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Bruce December 26, 2011 for Model Number mavt754eww Model number mavt754eww will not spin during the spin cycle. I believe it might be the belt. How do I check it?
1 Answer Hello Bruce. Turn the belt by hand and see if the belt slips on the pulleys. If not, and the belt turns the pulleys, you may have a bad thrust bearing kit 12002213. Hope this helps. Read More...
