Mr Dickens September 26, 2014 for Model Number A506 I replaced both belts on the washer after the drum belt broke, but the real problem is that it won't agitate. The drum spins and drains the water ,but the soap remains as no washing action takes place. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Mr Dickens, With the issue that you are having with the unit, this would be a bad transmission with the unit not agitating but it will spin and drain. Read More...
Wanda September 09, 2014 for Model Number LAT9520AAE When I do a load of laundry my washer has water running out of the bottom of the tub right where the tub connects to the drain assembly, what parts do I need. In the replacement parts I only see a "brake assembly", but I am thinking that I will need a seal and other parts , the brake asse looks like it is one piece, no seal or anything else.
1 Answer Wanda, With where you are describing the leak as being located it would most likely be an issue of a cracked tub or a leaking hose. Read More...
Scott F April 13, 2014 for Model Number LAV3600aww Repair or scrap? Probably a six year old plus unit. At least two repair problems arising at the same time. 1) Overfilling will require replacing the pressure switch. 2) Noisy spin cycle plus some brown grease like substance noted under the unit. Bearing replacement? Transmission replacement? Both? Thanks for weighing in. Your expertise is appreciated. Scott
1 Answer Hello Scott. Sorry, we can not determine if your unit is worth the repair or not. That is a choice for you to make. We have no way of determining the valve of the unit. Sorry. Read More...

Alejandro January 31, 2014 for Model Number A390 My washer will fill with water, wash the clothes and rinse but will not spin. What is the problem?
1 Answer Hello Alejandro, This is most likely the spin bearing 6-2040130 seized. This occurs when the outer tub seal 6-2095720 leaks detergent water and washes the grease from the spin bearing. Read More...

Bill November 20, 2013 for Model Number LAT9206BAE My Maytag washer would not spin, so I replaced the worn bearings. The washer now spins without an issue, however it also does this when in the agitating portion of the cycle. Do you think the brake is bad?
1 Answer Hello Bill. Make sure you installed all the part correct on the unit. If so, you will need to replace the brake on the unit. Read More...
Harold September 27, 2013 for Model Number Maytag top load washer #A390 My washer won't spin in the spin cycle. The washer is definitely trying to spin. The spin drum seems almost frozen and hard to spin by hand. I can smell the belt smoking as the washer tries to spin. The wash cycle and drain pump seem to work fine. What is the culprit part & is it time to replace other parts for maintenance since I'm there?
1 Answer Harold, You'll need to raise the top panel of the washer, remove the tub cover and check to make sure there's no small articles stuck between the tubs. If the tubs are clear, you most likely have a seized tub bearing 6-2040130. Besides the bearing assembly, you'll need a set of belts 12112425 a tub seal kit 6-2095720 and a spanner wrench TB123B to perform the repair. You'll also want to order some silicone grease WP99003172 to lubricate the rollers on the motor carriage and TJ93240 turbine oil lubricant to lube the new bearing and race. This isn't that difficult a repair, just awkward due to the size of the parts when you remove the tub. Read More...
Michael O July 10, 2013 for Model Number Maytag washer LAT 9416 AAE I have a Maytag washer model # lat9416aae There is grease leaking from the bottom of the washer at the center pulley is there a seal or a gasket that I can replace
1 Answer Michael, Yes there is a seal kit 207843 that can be replaced in the event of an oil leak from the shaft. There is a tool TJ20000021 used to remove the seal from the housing, which makes it a lot easier, you can work the seal out using a small flat blade screwdriver and needle nose pliers. You do have to be careful installing the new seal and you need to remove the oil that has accumulated on the pulley, belts, base, etc. Read More...
