Chad March 01, 2021 for Model Number 11028002010 My washer takes for ever to start, upwards of 20 min after the sensing stage. Once it starts, it will not move past wash stage and has had a faint burning smell at times.
1 Answer Chad, We advise you to locate the tech sheet and enter service mode to retrieve the error codes. Lift the top panel and look in the top left corner of the front panel and the tech sheet will be there. Read More...
Keith February 28, 2021 for Model Number MVWC400XW3 Everything seems to work, except for spin cycle. As soon as it starts to spin, the tub begins to move around to the point of shutting down the spin. Almost like there is too much torque starting the spin.
1 Answer Keith, it would be recommended that the drive block W10324651 is inspected to identify if it has come loose and the tub centering springs W10400895 would need to be checked to see if they have come loose from the tub or the suspension rods. If those check good, the next step would be to inspect the pulley to identify if it has come loose. Read More...
Jon February 11, 2020 for Model Number MVWX500XWG I replaced the capacitor and am trying to calibrate the wash machine. I cannot get it into the mode for the calibration beeps and lights.
1 Answer Jon, If you are just getting beeps and lights then you will want to put the unit into service diagnostics and see if there are any stored error codes. Read More...
Nicholas July 19, 2018 I have a whirlpool cam2762jq0 washet coin op that will fill with water but the motor hums i can hand start motor i replaced motor not capacitor is itv the gearbox or capacitor i need
1 Answer Nicholas, it would be a good idea to replace the capacitor on a motor due to the fact that it is what starts the motor. Read More...
Akira January 08, 2017 for Model Number MVWX500WXO Maybe the same question as Charlie.. The machine grabbed a pillow in top of the tube and burnt it.. Since then it has a similar problem as Charlie. First, after the first stage, stopped and unlocked the lid. After replacing the actuator, after it is turn on, it just hums and that not goes ahead. the humming only ceases after is unplugged. Wonder if the capacitor is to blame..
1 Answer Akira, The first thing you will want to check is to make sure that there is nothing caught between the inner and outer tub of the unit. Also check the splutch assembly to make sure that it is not damaged. Put the unit into a diagnostic and see if there are any stored error codes. Read More...
Bridget October 03, 2016 for Model Number MVWX700XW1 Hi, My washer wont agitate or spin. It will fill with water and drain but will not agitate during the wash mode or spin at all. I replaced the shift actuator thinking that would solve the problem but it didnt. I ran the error code and ever turn of the dial I get F0 E0, no error code. I ran the calibration mode too. not sure what to do next. I have a large family and would love to get my washer fixed on my own, Its only 5-6 yrs old would hate to scrap it and buy another. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bridget. Check and make sure the pulley W10721967 on the bottom is good and make sure the belt WPW10006384 is good. If so, then check and see if the motor is running. If it is running, then the gear box W11132267 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Randy. Check and see if there is any damage to the large pulley under the unit and make sure the shift actuator is good on the unit. Read More...
Gary C September 16, 2015 for Model Number WTW5640XW0 I have a similar problem that others have asked however I have specific info regarding my test procedures. First I ran internal diagnostics and got the following codes F0/E5- Off balanced Load, F1/E2 - Motor Control Fault, F3/E2- Inlet water temp Fault. F5/E1- Lid Switch Fault. I can explain most of the trouble codes except F1/E2. Now my symptoms are as follows: When turning on the machine it cycles to test the load. When it gets ready to start there is a loud buzzing sound from the start capacitor which will not stop unless the machine is unplugged. I tested the capacitor with an ohm meter and it sweeps up and goes to zero on both terminals. Am I looking at a control board or capacitor?
1 Answer Gary, It sounds like the capacitor is good if it gives you a resistance then drops to 0. You will want to get your tech sheet and on page 14 of the tech sheet there is a test for the drive system. You will want to run test 3b of the drive system to determine what the issue is. This could be a control issue, a motor issue or possibly a wire harness issue. If you have already tested the motor and the wiring and it is good then the control board would be the issue. Mark December 11, 2014 for Model Number MVWC400XW2 I changed the tub seal and did the recalibrate mode when it gets to spin. It starts and it stops and the lid lock light starts to blink. I did the manual test on the low spin it starts and then it stops and the red light starts blinking and stops the test. I did it on the high spin mode and it does the same thing. I did drop the capacitor so I think it might be that.
1 Answer Hello Mark, You should run the diagnostic mode since this sounds like a lid lock W10404050 issue. It would not be a bad idea to replace the capacitor W10804664 if you dropped it. Read More...
Mark M October 10, 2014 for Model Number WTW5550XW0 During the sensing mode, the washer will spin and stop twice, which is normal. The third time, it starts to spin and the motor hums very loudly and will not stop humming unless unplugged. The tub does spin, but slowly. I have run the diagnostics and both fault & error codes say "motor control fault'. Looking further (page 16 of service tech manual) says a faulty capacitor may cause the motor to 'hum', not start or turn slowly. I am confused by a prior question on this page where you said it WASNT the capacitor. I do not have an ohm meter. When running thru every item on the manual and automatic test mode, each function works! I guess I was hoping it was the capacitor and not the main control board.
1 Answer Hello Mark. With it working sometimes and not others, it does not sound like the capacitor. However, it could be a weak capacitor causing the issue. Try replacing it and if the issue continues, replace the board. Read More...
