Install notes:
  • Unplug the appliance before servicing; verify power is disconnected
  • Use ESD protection and handle the board by the edges only
  • Photograph/label all wire connectors to ensure correct reassembly

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Main) (Part Number: OEM18035493)

Susi S. for Model Number GHW9150PW1

Hello from Canada. I was told my Whirlpool Duet washer needs a "control board". Well, it has been almost 9 weeks and there is still no sign of the part. The repair person claims that the US part won't work on my machine as the parts are different, and that the part has to be custom built in Canada, for about $300.00 I find this story hard to believe, and even harder to accept is the fact that I still don't have a washer two months after the service call! Is this true about the parts being different in the two countries? Thank you

Hello Susi, While it is true that export models have different parts, the electronic control on this unit is WP8182695 and is in stock and I cannot see having a 2 month wait for the part. Since we do not have the capability of shipping to Canada, I would recommend to find someone with an address in the U.S. and have us send it to them. They can then ship it on to you from there. I say this because we have the part in stock and you can get the part delivered is a relatively short time, even with a "layover".

Hello Danny, If the screens are not stopped up between the water valve and the home water supply, the most likely cause of this is the water valve WP8181694.

Rangedude, You will want to make sure that there is no clogged screen in the water valve. Check to make sure that there is not a siphoning issue where the water is draining at the same time. Verify the wire harness connections to the inlet valves, pressure switch, drain pump, flow meter, and central control unit. Check hoses for leaks verify the flow meter operation by blowing air through the part and measure the resistance and if all of this checks ok then replace the Central control unit.

John, The "FH" error code indicates an issue in the water fill circuit " FH / No water detected entering machine or pressure switch trip not detected." Since your " water pressure is good" you would want to start by checking the air pressure tube WPW10004260 disconnect the hose from the water level switch WPW10514214 to the drain pump assembly 280187 and blow in the end of the hose, This should clear any debris that may have accumulated in the tube, and is blocking the air flow to the switch. Also check and make sure there are no loose wire connections at the switch and the CCU.

Hello Scott, You should pull the tech sheet and put the unit into a diagnostic test. If it will not go, check all connections by unplugging each connector and re-connecting them. Do this, of course, one at a time so you don't cross any connections. If this still produces no results, the user interface WP8182785 has failed and will require replacement.

Hello Hazar! All parts are new from the manufacturer. At this time this item is out of stock and we do not have a definite estimated ship date available. Once an order is placed for the part the manufacturer will release an estimated time of arrival for your order. If ordered and the ETA is too far out you do have the choice to cancel the order. You will not be charged for the part until the order is released from the warehouse. Hope this helps you.
