Charlie August 07, 2011 for Model Number gs6shaxlq03 Is this the correct ice maker for my whirlpool? The optics check out fine, but no water. Pigtail 120v to solenoid and water fills tray. Jumper L & V, no fill. I don't want to only change the module, but the whole icemaker. Thanks.

Larry August 02, 2011 for Model Number GC5SHEXN03 Icemaker was not working, changed water valve, started icemaker it filled with water, froze, but did not advance any further. I changed module assembly, still nothing.
1 Answer Hello Larry. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the thermostat WP627985 may be bad. If you replaced the valve and the module, the thermostat is not closing to start the icemaker. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jack W. July 26, 2011 for Model Number GS6NBEXRQ01 Ice maker just quit making ice. Whirlpool gold, I do not know how to trouble shoot the ice maker, but it is not getting water in the tray. I would like to buy a new ice maker, but when I put the model number in, all I get is the exploded parts list of the ice maker that I need. Just want the maker. I can remove and install if I could just find one at a reasonable price.
1 Answer Hello Jack. Based on the model number you provided, 2198597 is the correct icemaker assembly. Hope this helps. Read More...
L. V. July 26, 2011 for Model Number admiral fridge gs2614cxfw The icemake makes hollow ice, sometimes won't make any ice at all, and an icicle forms on the front right part of the icemaker. I also noticed ice along the bottom of the tray as if water half flowed then frozen at the bottom. I get water but it takes some time after it begins to flow, to get cold water. Unit is 10 yrs old and I kind of remember getting cold water from the start. thanks
1 Answer Hi L.V. Is your water line kinked? Have you changed your water filter in the past 6-mo's? If you are not getting the water out the dispenser along with the ice maker issues, then you will need to replace the water valve part # 61005626. Thank you. Read More...
Meg July 25, 2011 for Model Number whirlpool GD5NHAXSB00 Our icemaker stopped making ice. I turned the freezer off and let it defrost, since it needed a good cleaning anyway. I turned the unit back on and last night, before I went to bed, it was making ice and everything seemed to be working fine. This morning we woke to water on the floor and water had run down the door of the freezer and frozen. There was also frozen icicles dripping from the icemaker itself as well as on the shelves under the icemaker. Any suggestions on what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks.
1 Answer Hi Meg. The Ice maker head control module tells the water valve when to open and send water. If the controls shorted during the night and kept calling for water then you will need Ice maker part # 2198597. It is far unlikely that the water valve shorted but in case you decide to change both, that part # is WPW10159839. Thank you. Read More...
Pete July 20, 2011 for Model Number 106.53662300 I have a Kenmore model 106.53662300 with an odd ice maker problem. The ice maker would spray water occasionally inside the freezer cabinet causing ice to form on items inside. I figured it was built up ice on the ice maker itself causing the spray. I removed the ice maker and ran hot water on the parts removing the built up ice but noticed in the tray where the ice is formed, the gold-colored (non-stick?) lining appears to be peeling off in many areas. I presume this is considered normal 'wear and tear' on a 7 year old ice maker and Sears will not replace under any warranty, correct? Is http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/whirlpool-complete-icemaker-assembly--8-cube--item-number-ap3182733.aspx?pn_=2198597 the correct part number I should look for to replace the ice maker? Thanks much.
1 Answer Pete, Sorry, but you're correct on both counts, The manufacturer will not cover any "normal" wear and tear situations on their products. But you do have the correct part number for the replacemant ice maker assembly. Thanks and Good Luck. Read More...
Hazel July 18, 2011 for Model Number 10654616300 I have a kenmore model # 10654616300. it started frosting, i would clean it and it will start weeks after cleaning it. now it stopped making ice, the sensor is flashing but no ice. What part should i replace in order for the machine to make ice again?
1 Answer Hazel, I take for granted your discussing the reciever board LED flashing on the ice maker switch on the right wall, correct ? If the LED flashes twice, pauses then flashes twice, and continues that pattern, you will most likely need the dispenser board kit W11629974 . you can verify the operation by : Open the freezer door and observe the LED, if it is flashing twice, press in on the emitter flapper on the left side wall if the LED continues to flash twice, you'll need the board kit. If the LED is on solid, the board are OK and you'll need to check the ice maker operation. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Daphne July 18, 2011 for Model Number KSRB25FHSS02 I need to replace both the ice maker and water valve on my Kitchenaid Side-by-side refridgerator. Which water valve size do I need, where is it located and how do I replace it?
1 Answer Hello Daphne, for the icemaker you will need to order part number 4317943 and for the water valve you will order W10408179. Here is a link to the diagram for the valve: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/sect/r/w/n/rwngarsk75.gif . You will need to remove the rear cover #21 in order to access the water valve. You will want to disconnect and connect each wire one by one, thanks! Read More...
Roger July 16, 2011 for Model Number 106 626663 The ice maker in my Kenmore (Whirlpool) stopped working a while ago. I removed it and noticed that the plastic pin that connects the rotating gear to the ice ejector arm is broken. I super-glued it and it worked for one more cycle and then stopped again. The pin had snapped again. Is it possible to buy a replacement plastic pin? It seems excessive to have to buy the whole assembly if only a small plastic part is broken!
1 Answer Hello Roger! The model 106 626663 is not pulling in our systems as a valid model number. May we have your appliance model number to verify if parts are available? Thanks! Read More...
