Hello Larry. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the thermostat WP627985 may be bad. If you replaced the valve and the module, the thermostat is not closing to start the icemaker. Hope this helps.

Hi L.V. Is your water line kinked? Have you changed your water filter in the past 6-mo's? If you are not getting the water out the dispenser along with the ice maker issues, then you will need to replace the water valve part # 61005626. Thank you.

Meg for Model Number whirlpool GD5NHAXSB00

Our icemaker stopped making ice. I turned the freezer off and let it defrost, since it needed a good cleaning anyway. I turned the unit back on and last night, before I went to bed, it was making ice and everything seemed to be working fine. This morning we woke to water on the floor and water had run down the door of the freezer and frozen. There was also frozen icicles dripping from the icemaker itself as well as on the shelves under the icemaker. Any suggestions on what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

Hi Meg. The Ice maker head control module tells the water valve when to open and send water. If the controls shorted during the night and kept calling for water then you will need Ice maker part # 2198597. It is far unlikely that the water valve shorted but in case you decide to change both, that part # is WPW10159839. Thank you.

Pete for Model Number 106.53662300

I have a Kenmore model 106.53662300 with an odd ice maker problem. The ice maker would spray water occasionally inside the freezer cabinet causing ice to form on items inside. I figured it was built up ice on the ice maker itself causing the spray. I removed the ice maker and ran hot water on the parts removing the built up ice but noticed in the tray where the ice is formed, the gold-colored (non-stick?) lining appears to be peeling off in many areas. I presume this is considered normal 'wear and tear' on a 7 year old ice maker and Sears will not replace under any warranty, correct? Is http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/whirlpool-complete-icemaker-assembly--8-cube--item-number-ap3182733.aspx?pn_=2198597 the correct part number I should look for to replace the ice maker? Thanks much.

Pete, Sorry, but you're correct on both counts, The manufacturer will not cover any "normal" wear and tear situations on their products. But you do have the correct part number for the replacemant ice maker assembly. Thanks and Good Luck.

Hazel, I take for granted your discussing the reciever board LED flashing on the ice maker switch on the right wall, correct ? If the LED flashes twice, pauses then flashes twice, and continues that pattern, you will most likely need the dispenser board kit W11629974 . you can verify the operation by : Open the freezer door and observe the LED, if it is flashing twice, press in on the emitter flapper on the left side wall if the LED continues to flash twice, you'll need the board kit. If the LED is on solid, the board are OK and you'll need to check the ice maker operation. Thanks and Good Luck
