When I unplug machine than turn it back on drain pump goes thru its cycle and that's it, still no lights. Unplugged ribbon, than plugged it back in no lights. Is it the control panel or mother board?

Janice C November 06, 2015 for Model Number KOTE104DSSO Somehow the Control Lock has been activated and will not let me run my dishwasher. The light goes off; however, when I try to activate a wash cycle it comes back on and doesn't allow the wash. I have tried pushing it 3 seconds to deactivate it. Does not work. Fred March 27, 2013 for Model Number KUDS02FRSS1 My dishwashers touchpad was acting up - started with different lights flashing with no apparent consistency or pattern, and after pushing the buttons at random, it would clear. Well, now the Normal and Cancel lights are continually blinking fast. Powered off and on - no change. I followed your instructions to another persons similar question, and disconnected the ribbon cable, and then restored power. Nothing happened. I cannot find the thermistor/owi to disconnect/reconnect. I know it's installed into the sump, and it is supposed to have yellow wires running to it. Is it on the back side of the unit? I don't want to pull the unit out of the cabinet unless absolutely necessary (but will if needed). Does it sound like the touchpad to you or should I pull out the unit and disconnect/reconnect the thermistor/owi? Thank you.

Nick January 03, 2013 for Model Number KUDSO2FRSS1 My dishwasher will not run. The normal light is constantly blinking. If I press the cancel button then it will not stop blinking. The quick clean light will also constantly blink. I removed the power to the dishwasher, I also tried unplugging the control panel from the control board to reset the system. Neither of these steps did anything. I think the problem may either be the control panel or the control board. I'm leaning toward the control board because it seems like the buttons respond initially on the control panel.
1 Answer Hello Nick, Here is a way to check to see whether the control or the keypad need to be replaced: CHECKING KEYPAD OPERATION A rapidly blinking LED over one of the keys of the keypad (or sometimes a “dead” keypad/console) indicates one or more key switch lines are stuck or shorted on either the control or the keypad. To determine which one, do the following test: 1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. Open console and disconnect the keypad ribbon connection from the control (at P1). Put console back together. 3. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect power. 4. With door latched, disconnect and reconnect thermistor or OWI sensor two times in less than 6 seconds. 5. Wait 10 seconds, then monitor the control’s response to the thermistor: ?If the control is OK (no longer sees shorts with the keypad unplugged), it will respond by running service diagnostics. Listen for it to begin filling after it concludes the 5–10 second display test at the beginning of the service diagnostics cycle. Check and/or replace the keypad if the control responds OK. ?If the control is not OK (still sees shorts with the keypad unplugged), then it will NOT respond to the thermistor at all and will remain off after 10 seconds go by. Make sure the keypad is unplugged for this test. 1 Answer Myron, This style dishwasher can take as long as two hours or more to run and complete certain cycles. At this point, it's not likely you need a control board. You may have an issue in the drain hose 8269144A with a kink or clog in the line or at the plumbing, you may have an issue in the drain pump impeller WPW10348269 so it doesn't drain completely, etc. You should find the Technical Data Sheet attached to the backside of the kickplate panel, or frame of the dishwasher and can conduct the diagnostic test mode, this should assist you in determining which direction to take. I chatted with one of your reps who said I needed a panel, toe plate, handle, and a control panel (which i'm assuming is white only since it doesn't specify colors). Why would I need a control panel, as I already have one. Also, does this involve removing wires and other tech stuff, or can I do this myself?

For the control panel in stainless you will need WP8574145. You will also need the door panel WPW10137623 and door handle W10083931A in stainless. About half way through you see the start light flashing like the door had been opened and yet no one has touched the dishwasher. Could it be the door latch or does it sound like the control board. 1 Answer Hello Jon. Test and make sure the heater WPW10082892 and the thermostat WP661566 are good and the unit does heat the water in the unit and dry the dishes. They should read closed for continuity. If both are good, and the heater is not working, you will need to replace the control board WPW10084141. If the control board is good, and the heating is working, then the door switches WP8269209 may be bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
