Bob November 28, 2012 for Model Number MCE8000ayw This Maytag unit will suddenly start to run on its own, without any manual input. I believe that the trouble is in the control panel or logic board, any ideas before I spend to much money on repair? Should I replace just one or the other or should I replace both?
1 Answer Bob, If you have a multi meter you should test the touchpad ribbon tracers. another way to check, would be to disconnect the ribbon from the logic board, re apply power and wait a few days and see if the unit starts on it's own( works if you have the time and don't have a meter). The most common issue for a complaint like yours is the control panel 31001658. Read More...
Fred November 06, 2012 for Model Number mcg8000aww The button on the console is becoming more and more difficult to get dryer to start. Can the button be bought separately or do I have to eat the entire console cost.
Bob May 28, 2012 for Model Number MCE800AYW My console board is dead, no lights or reading..I have power to it so how do I know if it is the console that is bad or the board?
1 Answer Hello Bob. If there is power to the control board, but nothing going out to the console, replace the board WP31001562. If there is power going out, replace the console 31001658. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mel May 07, 2011 for Model Number maytag MCE8000AYW The on/off button does not work on the bottom dryer. Does the console include the logic board? Or would I have to buy the logic board and the console? In some areas around the buttons, the sticky pad is coming up. I don't know if I need to replace both the logic board and the console (because piece is coming up) or if the console includes the logic board. Please help.
1 Answer Hello Mel! The console assembly 31001658 does not include the logic board WP31001562. If the buttons are coming off on the console you may only have to replace the console itself as that is what sends the signal to the board. Hope this information helps. Read More...
Stephen March 28, 2011 for Model Number MCE8000AYW Before I order a new console for my dryer I need a copy of the service manual or at least the instructions for how to replace my defective console. 1 Answer Stephen, Thanks for your inquiry, Here are the instructions and the part number you need to repair your drying center : Console Removal 1. Disconnect power supply to unit. 2. Remove the 4 screws located in the drying cabinet securing the console from behind, one on each side and two in the middle. 3. Roll console out and down. Logic Board Removal 1.
