Joshln S July 13, 2014 for Model Number MCE800AYW The timer on the upper unit keeps clicking and counting down. Both the bottom and top units still dry. The timer for the top unit does not seem to stop resetting.
1 Answer Joshln, With the timer continuously resetting you will want to check the incoming power to the unit first. Make sure that you have a constant 240 vac getting to the unit and that it is not dropping too low. If the power checks ok then the control board would most likely be the cause for the issue. Gabe May 29, 2014 for Model Number MCE800AW Some of the lights on our display do not work. It appears that all buttons function fine however the lights that correspond to the temperature setting and cycle settings (Sensor, Time, Wrinkle, Air Fluff) do not light up. Is this an issue with the control board or membrane? Thanks!
1 Answer Gabe, This issue would be caused by a faulty console with membrane. The part number is 31001658. Read More...

Al February 28, 2014 for Model Number MCE8000AYW I'm having trouble starting the lower unit, When we push the start button sometimes it will start and others times you have to use your finger nail and move it across the entire button until you find a place it will start. Would that be the logic board or the console?
Barry February 08, 2014 for Model Number Maytag Model # MCG8000AWW Recently the entire control panel went out for both the upper and the lower dryer. I was advised to replace the Logic board. I did so and now the upper dryer works but the lower dryer is reading and error message 8. I noticed that the green signal tape that connects to the Logic board had a good ding to the copper lines, but I continued installation anyway. When I select time dry, the display reads 45 minutes and allows me to select other options, but when I hit start the dryer will not come on. Whats my next step? Do I need to replace the Console? And do I need to replace the green signal tape? Thank You Barry
1 Answer Barry, With the 8 error code being an indication that there is a stuck keypad then the console would be the issue with the unit. Replaced the console 31001658 which comes with the signal cable that you were inquiring about. Read More...
Larry September 04, 2013 for Model Number Model # FAV9800AWW My Maytag Neptune TL has become a problem. When the cycle starts and gets to another cycle (spin) there is a grinding noise and seems to reverse the spin cycle and excess water start to overflow and shoot out of the top. I have the front housing off and can see the operation. I replaced the "control board" a couple of years ago. Is this a defaulted board?
1 Answer Larry, Based on the information if the grinding noise happens when the unit goes to the spin cycle then it would be a slipping clutch assembly and would the clutch would need to be replaced. Read More...

Tom May 31, 2013 for Model Number Maytag MCG8000aww my maytag neptune lower dryer heat does not come on. upper air dryer has heat. all other controls and functions are fine. no error messages.
1 Answer Tom, You will want to check your thermal fuse for the lower dryer for continuity and test the thermostats as well. If they do not have continuity then they will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Shawn P December 06, 2012 for Model Number MCE8000AYW Hi, My lower drying drum light bulb quit working last week. I ordered a replacement light bukd directly from Whirlpool, but they sent a large bulb (part A3167501). The bulb is gold on the bottom rather than silver. I found the replacement bulb on your site, but wonder if the bulb is the issue. When I put the bulb above in, the light still does not come on. And, the panel does not automatically come on when the drum door is opened, but the panel does light when the drying cabinet door is opened. Do I have a bigger issue here and need to replace the Console with membrane part? Shawn P
1 Answer Hello Shawn. Based on the information you provided, the door switch WP53-0148 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Don December 02, 2012 for Model Number MCE8000AYW All the lights on the console have an input. They change constantly. Also the time on the upper and lower cabinet change. The only way you can stop it is to flip the breaker. The buttons seem to work but you can't get the right input. They change on there own. How do I know if my problem is the logic board or the console or if it is a relay down by the motor? Thanks, Don
1 Answer Hello Don, It sounds like unit may in demo mode. To exit demo mode unplug unit 20 to 30 seconds, plug back in and press both off buttoms for 5 seconds. Read More...
