Arlene September 04, 2013 for Model Number MDB7100AWB Maytag My dishwasher did not drain at all & I couldn't change any settings yesterday. I turned off the breaker overnight & tried it today. It only did the complete cycle including drain on the 'rinse only' cycle. It will occasionally begin the 'normal' or 'light' wash cycles but either stops right away & makes a couple of sounds or else fills but stops part way through the wash and refuses to drain. When it quits it gives a soft clicking sound and the panel led lights flicker until I use the stop button or cut the power. Only the 'rinse only' cycle works right. Am I correct in thinking the control panel is faulty? The front cover panel it fits behind looks intact. What part number would I need?
1 Answer Hello Arlene, This actually sounds like you could have a poor electrical connection causing a high current condition, breaking down the circuit and shutting down. Turn off power to the unit and remove the kick panel and the metal box labeled electrical connection and make sure none of the wire nuts have melted. If this checks out ok, open the door panel to access the control board and look for any signs of moisture. If you do find moisture, you will need to replace the seal around the vent. If no moisture, remove and reconnect the wiring to the board, looking inside each for any signs of discoloration. If nothing is found, the control board 12001718 has probably failed. Since the board is no longer available, you will have to do an online search for a company like corecentrics that rebuilds boards for an estimate on rebuilding the board. Read More...
Tracy August 07, 2013 for Model Number mdb7100awb My dishwasher will start and fill properly, but does nothing else also when we select the 90 min wash the unit starts and the 90 min cycle light goes dim.
1 Answer Hello Tracy. Check the power coming to the unit. If it is good, and the lights dim, you will need to replace the control board in the unit. Read More...
Gerry R. November 27, 2012 We have the American style Whirlpool fridge/freezer, which has two PCBs. One in front and one in back. The front ones part No. Is 48124553888051 and the rear PCB part No. Is 481221778213. Could you advise which one controls the defrost function. I have replaced the freezer thermostat and also the heating element but the unit does not defrost itself, so I have to manually defrost it every 2 weeks. If I can identify which unit controls the defrost function then I can either replace the PCB or better still replace the defective electrical component?
Richard H. August 28, 2012 for Model Number MDB6600AWQ I have a dishwasher that works fine when it works. The problem is that sometimes it will not start or it will only rinse and hold. When the machine is not being used the panel lights will go on and off. I have tried to find a part number for the control panel for this model with no success. Do you think this is the problem and what part would be used? Thank you.
Scott July 31, 2012 for Model Number MDB7100AWB My dishwasher quit working, no lights on control panel, nothing. I checked voltage on door switch. I have 110v on black wires and around 9v on the white wires. Is this a control board problem or something else?
1 Answer Hello Scott. Test for power coming to the control board. If there is power coming to the control board, but there is nothing working on the unit, it sounds like you need to replace the control board WP99002824 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Tom July 02, 2012 for Model Number Maytag, dishwasher MDB7100AWS My dishwasher will not start at all.The clean light and the heated light keep flashing.
1 Answer Hello Tom. Test the door switches and make sure they are good. If so, you will need to replace the PCB assembly WP99002824 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Ole Ray April 27, 2012 for Model Number MDB7100AWW My dishwasher simply quit. The door switchs had good continuity, so I looked at the control board and found two large components, in series, that got hot enough to blacken/burn the board, I am sure they are not making continuity in there solder joints. I fear that if I simply put in a new control board the same thing will happen again. What could have caused this, and how do I check everything to make sure a new control will fix the problem? Better yet, what are these two components, could I simply replace them - the runs on the board are fine.
1 Answer Ole Ray, You're on the right track, but The resistors in the motor circuit and the heater circuit on the control board, have a tendency to discolor and blacken, but the unit will operate. You need to check and make sure you have 110 VAC across the double black and double white wires at the control board with the door switches activated. if you have the voltage, you'll need a new control board, no voltage would be a bad door switch or wiring issue. Here's some meter usage information should you need it [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Linda February 13, 2012 for Model Number MDB7100AWW I have a Maytag mdb7100aww that will run through the cycles and will run then drain at about the 65 minute time, then it fills with new water then kicks off and the clean light and the heated dry light will start blinking... it started out it only did this on the light wash, and the normal and heavy were still working, now it is doing this on all washes.. Can you tell me what part I need to fix this?
1 Answer Hello Linda. You will need to test the thermostat WP99001852 and the heater WP99001995 and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. If they are good, you will need to replace the PCB assembly WP99002824. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Linda February 13, 2012 for Model Number MDB7100AWW When I run either the light or normal cycles, the dishwasher will run for about 20 minutes, it will drain, then fill up with water again, then it will quit and then the clean light will flash and the heated dry light will flash.
1 Answer Hello Linda. You will need to check and make sure and get the water hot before starting the dishwasher. If the water is hot, and the unit is heating properly, you will need to replace the PCB Assembly WP99002824. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Chris H. September 05, 2011 for Model Number mdb7100aww Dishes don't get dried. Heating element tested ok. Doesn't seem like it is heating hot enough at end of the cycle and dishes are still wet.
1 Answer Hello Chris. You will need to test and see if the limiting thermostat WP99001852 is bad on the unit. It should read closed for continuity. If it is good and the heater is good, you will need to replace the control board WP99002824. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
