Dave, Since the LED lights and circuits are part of the control panel assembly 6-919844, that's the place to start. You can check each keypad circuit with a multimeter and the tech data sheet as a guide, but chances are it will test properly, and still have an issue.

Hello, I would recommend to remove the kick panel and pull the tech sheet. This has instructions on it which will guide you through a self-diagnostic test. This will pinpoint any issues that may exist that have occurred with the unit. The first thing it will do is go through all of the lights on the control panel. Any that don't light will be noticeable at this point. In case yours is missing, I've included a copy in the attachment. The issue is most likely the control panel, but I would still run the test first since the control board is responsible for voltages used to power these lights.

Cindy, Yes, you most likely needed the control panel/keypad assembly 6-919819 from the start, a malfuntioning key pad could create an erratic operation, and also cause the board to " shut down".

Jess for Model Number MDB7600AWW-Undercounter

Doesn't drain. The cycle works all the way until it needs to drain. Pulled the washer out and checked the pump. It didn't work. Pulled pump apart and couldn't see anything that would cause it not to work. Hot wired it and it worked great, pumped all the water out. Hooked it up to the orginal wires and it didn't work. Service technician had mentioned possibly a bad circut board. Question is, if the cirucut board was bad why only this part of the cycle or is that common?

1 Answer

Hello Jess, The control could be bad, or you could have a bad connection between the board and the pump. There could a a bad wire or a bad connection. The control board is a conglomeration of many circuits and any one can fail without affecting any of the others. You should check all connections by unplugging them and reconnecting them one at a time and you can test the wires for voltage at each end. If no problems are found, the control board has most likely failed. If the first two digits of your serial number is 18 or lower, you will need part number 99003160. If the first two digits of your serial number 12002709.

Hello Kenneth, The firs thing you should check the connections to the control board and ensure that everything is making a good connection. You then want to ensure that you have power coming to control board. Since you don't have lights, if you have power to the control board then you want to check to make sure you are getting 2k ohms to the interface board. Check the ribbon that connects to J6 pins 1 to 4. If you do not have resistance then you need to replace the control panel 6-919819.

Hi. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. The keypad is part # 6-917712. Thank You.
