Gregg May 18, 2014 for Model Number 110.84832201 My HE3 dryer heat stopped working. All other functions are ok. Supply voltage ok. All fuses, thermistor, heating element have tested ok. Manual says replace control board. My question is how do I know if it is control board or display board problem?
1 Answer Greg, The issue would not be in the display board. For a not heating issue, if you got an error code that is stating to replace the control board then you would want to replace {AP3775548]. Read More...
Steve April 26, 2014 for Model Number 2006 Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer Dryer had power but would not start. I had a repair man come out and he diagnosed that the machine control board (8546219) was bad. So I ordered the part and installed it myself using your video. However, the machine is still doing the same thing. Power comes on but when I push start, nothing happens. Any suggestions as to what I should do next. Thanks Steve
1 Answer Steve, You will want to check the door switch to makes sure that it is good. A faulty door switch will cause the unit to not start. With the door closed the door switch should have continuity. If not then the switch is faulty and would need to be replaced. Also check the thermal fuse on the blower housing for continuity. If no continuity then the thermal fuse is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this is the case then you will also want to check the venting to make sure that there is no clog from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. Read More...
Dan April 10, 2014 for Model Number 110.82822100 Is there a way to determine whether you need a control board or a control panel? Only timed cycle works and cannot change times.
1 Answer Hello Dan. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the console WP8529879 is bad on the unit. It controls the different cycles, not the main board. Read More...
Chris March 12, 2014 for Model Number 110.85088401 My dryer shuts off after 20 min and all the lights starts to blink. Sometimes it starts by it self. Should I replace the main control board P#8546219 or could it be something else?
1 Answer Hello Chris. That sounds like the motor is overheating and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Shane February 15, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Gas Dryer My Duet dryer decided to stop working on me. When I press "Control On" everything comes on as it should. Then when I press the "Hold to Start" button I get a humming noise like the igniter is trying to light, but then nothing happens. Nothing at all. Tumbler does not rotate, doesn't blow any air, and then when you try and start it again it does nothing. I did the TEST #2 Motor Circuit Test and checked the resistance across P1-3 and P1-4 and had 2.5 ohms when I checked it at the connector. Do I check it on the circuit board without it plugged in or can I check it through the back of the connector? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Shane. You need to check it not being plugged in. It sounds like the motor may be bad in the unit. Read More...
Bobby February 08, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 Dryer controls can bet set but start button does not work.
1 Answer Bobby, You will want to check the thermal fuse on the blower housing to make sure that it checks good for continuity. If not then the thermal fuse would need to be replaced. If it checks ok then the user interface would be the cause for the issue. Read More...
Dip639 January 18, 2014 for Model Number amana lga90w gas dryer As soon the door is closed the dryer goes on after selection of heat settings the dryer doesn't shot off Thanks
1 Answer Dip639, The dryer starting as soon as the door is closed and the heat selected but not hitting start would be an indication of a faulty electronic timer kit. The part number for the timer kit is R9800176 but has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no replacement available. Read More...
Kimberly January 09, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet - ygew9250pwd The Dryer lights will not go on - dryer will not turn on - tested outlet, which is fine. However the dryer will not turn on? Is it the control board? Does that need to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Kimberly. Test for power coming to the board. If it is there, then you will need to replace the board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Roger B January 04, 2014 for Model Number 110.84832200 One day my dryer just had no heat-it tumbled but just blew cold air on all settings. I checked both the heating element and thermistor (resistance) and they seem to be fine. I suspect my control board is bad. Is there a check can I do on the control board to "verify" it needs replaced so I don't spend $200 bucks for nothing. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Roger. Yes, you will test for 120 VAC from the relay on the board. If it is not there, replace the board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
