Gavin September 03, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool WED9400VE0 Electric Dryer Dryer will stop and show an F70 error code - from what I can gather this is a communication problem between component electronics and control electronics - is there a way to determine which one is at fault before I order the necessary component? thanks
1 Answer Hello Gavin. Here is the information from the manufacturer. F:70 / F:71 flashes when there is no communication between the machine control and the console electronics. Check console electronics harness connections to the machine control. Replace the machine control electronics. Read More...

Jeff W. August 08, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 The "control locked" indicator light is intermittently lit, and the control panel won't respond. I hold the cancel and start buttons and the light sometimes goes out, then the dryer seems to function normally. I also think the vent tubing has a lot of built up material and needs to be cleaned. Are these symptoms somehow related?
1 Answer Hello Jeff, The control locked light is indicating that the customer option to "lock out the controls" has been initiated. This is normally caused by a stuck button/s on the control. It is very seldom caused by the control board. The lint build-up is an indication of poor air circulation. This is usually caused by a crimped or excessively long and/or complicated duct. It can also be caused by a bad blower wheel or an article of clothing or a softener sheet inside the blower wheel. The two problems are not related. Read More...
Lee S. July 31, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250SU0 Electric dryer does not tumble. All controls light up as normal. When I press the START button, I hear a loud click, but the dryer does not start. Dryer heats up. I thought it was the motor, so I ordered a new one and installed it, but the results are the same. Tested the broken belt switch continuity - it functions normally. How do I know if the control board is the problem?
1 Answer Hello Lee. If the motor is new, and the unit is heating, but not running, then test fro power from the board to the motor. If there is no power there, the board is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Jeremiah H July 08, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool duet MOD GGW9250PW0 Dryer trips breaker when I start cycle control board has burnt solder joint at motor relay. I want to make sure motor is not the problem before installing new board. Checked continuity between L1 and motor wire at plug and tested open (baby blue and black wires). I do not wAnt to destroy a new $200 board . Thanks Jeremiah
1 Answer Jeremiah, The black to blue would be the main winding and if it is showing open then that would most likely be the cause of failure. You would want to replace the motor at the same time. Read More...
Steve June 30, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 The controls on our Whirlpool Duet dryer have stopped working properly. When you press the Control On button none of the lights or displays light up. If I randomly tap the Control On, Start and Cancel buttons and turn the function knob I can usually get something to light up. If I am able to get something to come up on the display and close the door the dryer will start running on it's own after several seconds with out pressing the start button. Is it more likely the control board or the control panel that is bad?
1 Answer Steve, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty user interface board that would need to be replaced. The part number would be WP8558753. Read More...

Antoine May 26, 2014 for Model Number GGW9250PW2 Control panel won't come on. Unplugged my dryer then it worked for two cycles now the unit will not come on. Nothing lights up on the control board. There is a dim light on the cycle selector.
1 Answer Antoine, Based on the description of the problem you will want to check the harness between the main control board and display to make sure that there is not corrosion on the connectors. Also check to make sure that there is no damage to the harness. If this checks ok then most likely the control panel is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
