Mr. T June 26, 2017 for Model Number MED9700SQ0 Just replace the machine control board because of big black burn mark on back of PCB. I just ran self diagnose and the machine gives the 88 code on timer panel. So all seems to fine. But still wont start. Measured resistance across all devices for heater, motor and belt switch all seem to be in spec. Used the service manual and measurement the resistance across P1-3 to P1-4 and measure 1.3 ohm, which says that the machine control board is bad. Is this possible with this board to be bad right of the bat. Or am I missing a step.
1 Answer Mr T. It is possible that the control board came in faulty. The part number for the board is WP8546219 but also want to check to make sure that the thermal fuse is good. Read More...
Larry June 26, 2017 for Model Number GEW9250PL0 Whirlpool Duet Dryer Model GEW9250PL0. Went to use the dryer yesterday and am unable to get it to work at all. No lights on the panel when trying to operate the dryer. Checked the main breaker is on and verified proper voltage at the outlet where it's plugged in. Unable to get into diagnostic mode at all, since no response at control panel whatsoever. Is the problem with the main control board (part 8546219) or with the interface card control panel (part 8558753, 8558755, or 8558756)? Thanks
1 Answer Larry, Check power at the terminal block to make sure that there is proper power to rule out the power cord and check the wiring at the terminal block. If this checks ok then this will most likely be a main control board issue. Read More...
Dominique June 01, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore Elite 4 Quietpack Hi, my dryer started responding erratically recently. Some button stopped responding, other were ok. e.g. I am able to start a "jeans" cycle, but the button "normal" do not engage the cycle at all, during a cycle the "end of cycle signal" change setting by itself, "check lint screen" was preventing a cycle to start even though I cleaned up the whole thing twice, etc. I reset the dryer, everything worked fine 1 time, than started again the erratic behavior. I went through the technical sheet, check all the resistance of all the button, they are all good. Tried the diagnosis mode, work one time with no error code, all buttons responded upon pressure, than the second time I couldn't even enter the diagnosis mode because de "less time" button wasn't responding. It point out to a control board issue and I am looking to replace it, but I still have a doubt that it could be the console electronics and housing that is at fault. I want to make sure I don't order the wrong part (even though your return policy seems to be good). Would you be going for the control board WP8546219, or the electronic housing? Thank you.

Mike P January 25, 2017 for Model Number wed5530sqo (Whirlpool) My Whirlpool dryer stopped in mid drying cycle and will not restart. I have checked pretty much everything (start button, timer, thermal fuse, door button thermostat) and even replaced the motor but it still won't start. I bypassed the thermal fuse after checking that but dryer still wont't start. Since everything has checked out I'm guessing it may be the control board. Can you please advise. Thanks
1 Answer Mike, With everything checking ok and the thermal fuse on the blower housing being good, make sure that the door switch is not broken. This issue would be a timer issue if all else checks ok. Read More...
Qikkev January 22, 2017 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 Started dryer this morning heard a electrical snap from dryer tripping breaker. Removed top of dryer. Removed the control board and found the back side was charred and burned around the motor relay. Wanted your opinion if there could be a underlying problem or if replacing the control board would solve my issues. The motor is not froze up and turns freely.
1 Answer Hello Qikkev, This could have just been a weak solder joint on the board. I would replace the control board WP8546219 and put the unit back into operation if no shorts are detected with a resistance meter, (ohm meter), at the power cord. Read More...
Kenmore Elite He 4 January 04, 2017 dryer will not start up check belt ok by passed heat switch still not working I hear a click sound from the control panel thinking that is may be the problem?
1 Answer Kenmore Elite, No, the control board is probably not the problem. Your first check should be the thermal fuse located down inside the machine, attached to the blower housing. If the thermal fuse opens, due to an overheat situation, the motor will not start or run. it is not a resettable fuse, it will need to be replaced. Read More...
Christian December 06, 2016 for Model Number whirlpool duet dryer gew9250pw1 Dryer kept shutting off periodically tripped breaker , progressed to lock control lock being stuck with no operational ability. Ii replaced control panel, worked great for one day, now no lights on dryer extremely dim on selection wheel, now no operational ability. Is there a short somewhere? Did I just fry a new board?
1 Answer Christian, First check and make sure there is proper power supplied to the dryer. If you replaced the WP8546219 Machine control board, then you need to check or replace the WP8558753 user interface control board. If you remove the lower front access panel, you should find the tech data sheet attached to the back of the panel and can conduct the diagnostics and test modes for the controls. Read More...
Jaime November 21, 2016 for Model Number GGW9250PW0 The control panel on my Duet mode GGW9250PW0 will only turn on if the selector knob is set to Heavy Duty, Timed, or Touch Up. For all other settings there is no response. Once the control panel does turn on, some buttons will respond correctly, but other buttons are either ignored or activate an incorrect function. Do I need a user interface board or control board?
1 Answer Jaime, The control panel not responding would be caused by a faulty user interface board. Read More...
