Robert October 20, 2016 for Model Number GEW9250SU0 The controls are our Duet dryer are getting power (they're lit up) but none of the controls work. It's like the control panel is in a lock out mode. Would this be a dryer control board problem?
1 Answer Hello Robert. Yes, if the panel is not locked, you will need to order and replace the control board WPW10128437 on the unit. Read More...
Jmann October 19, 2016 for Model Number GGW9250PW3 The machine has been having trouble for a little bit. Previously when we had trouble I unplugged for a little while, and I guess reset the machine and it worked again. Now, I cannot get the machine to go into diagnostic mode at all. No buttons light up. Power is getting to the machine - but I can't get anything to work. I am assuming this is the control board - but is there a way to tell if it is that versus the button panel or something else?
1 Answer Jmann, There is really no way to test the display other than checking to make sure that the ribbon connector from the user interface is seated fully with the main control board. Read More...
Jay October 09, 2016 for Model Number WED9400SW1 My Whirlpool Duet will not heat. I am getting codes F70 and L2...I am thinking the control panel has gone out. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Jay. F:70 / F:71 flashes when there is no communication between the machine control and the console electronics. You will need to replace the main control board in the unit. Also, check the line voltage coming to the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Alex August 28, 2016 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 Hello. On my dryer - Whirlpool Duet, the control lock light lits up on its own and I cannot cancel it by holding the proper button for 3 seconds. I had turned the power off for a day and somehow I was able to turn it off and used the dryer for a day or two, but at some point it went on on its own and I cannot turn it off any more. I tried turning the power of etc but nothing worked. What part do I need to replace? - the control board or the control panel with the buttons? Thanks
1 Answer Alex, The user interface would be the most likely cause for the unit to turn the lock on by itself and would be part number WP8558753. Read More...
Brant August 06, 2016 for Model Number 110.85088401 My kenmore elite he4 dryer will not come on. The light comes on when opening the door. I've had a technician come out and said to replace the user interface which i did and it worked for a day and then back to not working. I've tested everything from moisture sensor to heating element and everything is working properly. When i do get it into diagnostic mode i get zero errors. Could this be the main control board?
2 Answers Hello Brant, You should check the thermal fuse WP3392519. The door switch WPW10318609, belt switch 279782, and centrifugal switch in the motor assembly 279787 should also be checked. I'm sorry but this part WPW10318609 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Read More...

2 Answers Brant, If the thermostats and thermal fuses check ok then yes the main control board would be the most likely cause for the unit to not work. Read More...
Alex July 29, 2016 for Model Number GGW9250PW2 You can open the door the light comes on but none of the controls light up and you can not obviously make the dryer work at all. Where should I start looking?
1 Answer Hello Alex. You will need to test the thermal fuse and the power supply to the unit. If both are good then it sounds like the main board is bad on the unit. Read More...

Jose June 10, 2016 for Model Number MGD9700SQ0 My dryer shorted out today (trips breaker immediately on start up) and I see that on the back of the circuit board the motor relay has blown (black residue on board and metal backing). Is the failure typically within the relay itself or do I more likely have a short in the motor that caused the relay to go and would have to replace both parts now? Thank you in advance!
1 Answer Jose, This issue would be more indicative of a relay that simply failed and the control board would need to be replaced. Read More...
Mike May 16, 2016 for Model Number GGW9250PL1 Controls not working. 3 dim lights on control panel. No buttons or knobs work
1 Answer Hello Mike. Test for proper power to the control board. If it is there, you will need to replace part number WP8558756 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
