Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Control Board (Part Number: OEM18039438)

John, There is a good chance that the relay on the board is bad and would be causing the unit to not heat. If you go to the control board and locate the heater relay. Turn the unit on to a dry setting and test for 240 vac across the relay. If there is 240 vac then the issue will be a faulty board and it will need to be replaced.

Joseph for Model Number GEW9200LQ0

Our electric duet dryer's LED control panel has progressively gotten worse over time to the point where it now will not light up at all. First it would only work on timed dry and beep during the cycle. Then once you opened the door, it wouldn't work anymore. Then, if I unplugged it, and left it overnight, it would reset and work again for one cycle. Now the lights don't come on at all, but the interior dryer light does come on. I don't know if it is the control board or the interface or possibly some other electrical issue?

Hello Joseph, This will be either a loss of continuity at a connector or the board WP8546219 has failed. Of course the thermostats and door switch should be checked for any discoloration and continuity when in the closed position.
