Ron November 13, 2021 for Model Number kuds301xbl7 The Circulator motor will not run. I replaced the motor, probably too soon, and the motor still will not run When you start a cycle, the unit fills with water, sounds like it tries to start the circulator three times, then pumps out the water and shuts down. What did I miss? Thanks for your help Ron
1 Answer Ron, if only the motor WPW10239401 was changed out and not the full motor assembly WPW10757217, the start capacitor WPW10334457 would need to be tested for 23.5 uf microfarads after having the unit unplugged for 10 minutes and using a rubber handled screwdriver to discharge the capacitor (having the screwdriver bridge the two terminals of the capacitor while the hand is only touching the rubber handle). If the capacitor fails, it would need to be replaced. If it does not fail, it would be likely that the main control W11035586 has failed if the motor impeller and motor shaft can rotate freely. Wallace Schauer April 09, 2021 for Model Number KitchenAid dishwasher KUDS391XBT4 Proscrub and heat dry indicator lights stay on at about half brightness. Can't reset controls by shutting off power or using the push buttons 5 time to reboot controls. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Wallace, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control panel that has a short in it. Read More...
Frank August 08, 2015 for Model Number KUDS301XBLO Two of the blue LED lamps, (4 Hour Delay & Cancel/Drain), have started glowing at about half brightness continuously. The dishwasher seems to operate OK. Powering down to reset does not help. Do you think my problem will get worse? Thanks_
1 Answer Frank, With the lights coming on at about half brightness continually then the most likely cause would be a touchpad that has a short in it. This will most likely worsen over time and would be recommended to replace the keypad. Read More...
Woodmore July 21, 2015 for Model Number KUDS30CXWH1 Dishwasher "locked" light comes on randomly and cannot be turned off by pressing for 3 seconds. Solution has been to take out 4 screws for control panel and disconnect 2 connects from wire harnesses. One harness goes to control panel circuit board behind buttons/lights that show functions selected. Other harness goes to small display board on right side of control panel that shows wash/rinse/dry/clean progress. Disconnecting cables had been clearing up problems--for weeks at a time--but now variojus new problems arise daily or even immediately after a wash cycle, all of which lock out functionality and operation of dishwasher. One problem is 'Cancel' light stays lit and will not clear. Or, another is 'Normal Wash' lights and stays lit, but does not activate dishwasher--plus, the 'Heat Dry' button will not activate at the same time. The problem of not being able to activate the dishwasher is more frequent (now daily or right away after using it for a cycle), and more buttons are "involved" in the flakey behavior. Is the problem the control panel (expensive) or the electronic control board (even more expensive)? It might be cost effective to replace oneo the other. However, it may be cheaper to replace the dishwasher with a new one than buy a control panel AND a control board.
1 Answer Hello Woodmore. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WPW10500164 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Ddshppr October 30, 2014 for Model Number KUDS35FXBL4 The dishwasher is completely dead- no lights, no sounds. It was working fine 12 hours ago. I checked the breaker and the electrical outlet and both are functioning. Is there anything to do except replace the control board?
1 Answer DDShppr, The first thing that you will want to do is to check the thermal fuse that is on the unit to make sure that it has continuity. If no continuity then the fuse is bad and needs replaced. If the fuse checks ok then you will need to replace the control board if it is getting power. Read More...
Henry B May 16, 2014 for Model Number Kuds30fxss1 Some time ago lights on the touch control went dim, then a couple of weeks later it quit working, I flipped the breaker to reset board, it was fine for months. It has again quit, tried the reset, didn't work, the touch pad light is however still dim, but pressing any choice does nothing. I read another post someone had commented that their kitchen lights flickered, we have the same problem, any link there ?
1 Answer Henry, We wouldn't expect the LED lights or touchpad to create an issue with the flickering kitchen light(s). These are both low DC voltage circuits. But, you will need to replace the control panel/keypad assembly WPW10481125. This is where the issue is for the dim display lights and no programming when a selection is made. Resetting the breaker doesn't necessarily clear or reset the control board. " To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following while in standby: ¦ Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3-1-2-3- 1-2-3 with no more than 1 second between key presses ¦ The Service Diagnostics Cycle will start when the door is closed. ¦ To rapid advance 1 interval at a time, press the Start/Resume key. Rapid advancing may skip sensor checks as some checks require 2 complete intervals." You'll want to check and make sure the wiring connections in the junction box on the front frame, behind the kickplate/lower access panel are tight and properly wrapped together. If the flickering lights persist, you'll need an electrician to check the circuit voltage and amperage draw, and repair the issue. Read More...
Paul Hansen April 28, 2014 for Model Number KUFC10iXWH1 Our dishwasher is dead. Only 3 years old. No lights on panel at all. Verified power in and out of thermal fuse. Is there any way to be sure it's the control board. That's an expensive part. Is this a common problem for KitchenAid?
1 Answer Hello Paul. If there is power from the fuse to the board, and it is dead, it is the board that will need to be replaced. Read More...
Scott February 08, 2014 for Model Number Kitchenaide W10380685 About 75% of the time, when I run the dishwasher, it stops at a random time in the cycle. All the lights on the control panel go off. The other 25% of the time it finishes the cycle and the "clean" light stays illuminated. Any ideas on what could be happening?
1 Answer Hello Scott. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Tim January 11, 2014 for Model Number kuds3ofxwh2 When you shut door to start dishwasher it starts filling, then when it goes to next cycle it starts clicking in door about 3 or 4 times then goes to drain cycle.
1 Answer Tim, This issue sounds like it would be caused by a relay in the control board being faulty. The unit may need be trying to go into the water heating mode and the relay being faulty would cause the issue. Read More...
Gregg January 07, 2014 for Model Number KUDS30IXBL4 When my dishwasher starts a cycle, you can hear the water run, then it pauses and clicks quietly 6 times then goes directly to the cancel/drain cycle and quits. The day prior to this it sounded louder than normal, kind of an electrical type? Buzz noise? A few days prior it got run with the door slightly open due to an unobserved obstacle and sprayed water out until noticed. Perhaps something got wet that shouldn't have? Did the control get wacked out? Thanks for any help.
1 Answer Greg, Based on the description it does sound like the control board would be the issue with the unit. With the unit going straight to drain after filling it would be a control issue. Read More...
