Had a power outage several days ago. Dishwasher starts and all buttons seem to work properly. I noticed last night that it was taking longer than normal to wash dishes. It appears the cycle started, water heated up etc., yet the timer is not counting down and it seems to stay "stuck" after it runs for a while. (e.g. last night i watched for approximately 10 minutes and it stayed at 40 minutes and never counted down). This morning tried again and it started normal, yet it seemed to "stick" at 60 minutes and never count down. I do notice when starting initially that where the countdown minutes are displayed it displays flashes going counter clockwise for several minutes before it starts. Could the electronic control board have gotten fried with the power outage?

Hello JB. It sounds like the control board may have been damaged and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Attila, The issue with the unit not starting and the door switch and thermal fuse checking ok would most likely be the control board. You will want to check the power supply where it comes into the unit to make sure that there is a good firm connection and also check to make sure that there is 120 vac at this point.

Diane for Model Number GU2455XTSS2

Whirlpool Dishwasher MODEL GU2455XTSS2 SYMPTOMS: - Front panel lights flash in irregular patterns, most frequent patter is Pots&Pans and Normal buttons paired with left and "- -" shows on Time display. Intermittently, blinking items change with no user action. - The Cancel button sometimes clears the panel lights for a few minutes, then some start blinking again. - Blinking sequence is regular (not patterned). - Unplug/replug does not correct the problem. - QUESTION: Will replacing the Control Panel or the Control Board fix my problem? or another part?

Diane, The flashing keys is representative of a faulty control panel. The keypad on the control panel has stuck keys which is causing this issue. The part number for the control panel is WPW10008660.

Our dishwasher control lights are out. I have verified power to the unit, verified voltage in/out of the thermal fuse, verified power to the door switch and out when the switch is engaged. We have also disconnected the control panel to ensure clean connections/pins. We attempted to run the control diagnostics by disconnecting the button control panel per the manufacture diagnostic instructions and not luck. Does this sound like a failed controller board? The controller board P/N is 8559825. Thanks, Larry

Hello Gregg. If the lights flash, but the start button does not work, the first thing you check is the door switches. If they are good, then the control panel is bad. The ribbon cable can be tested for continuity when pressing the start button.

I have different problems with the dishwasher. The Time Remaining display sometimes shows changing times e.g. 1H, 4H, 7H etc and then it stops. When I press Cancel, sometimes the machine will drain, other times nothing happens. The Normal light blinks continuously and pressing Cancel does not do anything. I have tried resetting the control panel by shutting off the power for about 15 min. and pressing Pots & Pans - Heated Dry - Cancel about 2 - 3 times. The control panel was cleared, but when I pressed Normal, the light started blinking again. I left the machine alone for a few hours and noticed that the Start light was blinking continuously, so I pressed Start and the machine completed a wash cycle. I have not been able to repeat this with any success. Do I need to replace a part(s)? Thank you
