For Whirlpool Dishwasher Control Board (Part Number: OEM18044862)

Henry for Model Number 665.17772990

As you can see with the model number, it is quite old, but working fine, until... Lock bottom blinks and dishwasher does not operate. Tried all the reset ideas but seems like it is more than that. I have watched your videos and am attempting to access the control board. I have removed the 6 screws but the panel is being quite stubborn. I can get it to flex a bit but nothing seems to want to release it from the front of the door. There are two more screws at the bottom of the door and wondering if this model/age, the whole inside door panel has to be removed to access the electronics of the control panel? Wondering if all the years of use that maybe soap, etc. residue has "glued" the control panel to the door? Thanks for the help!! Henry Ps. your dryer belt replacement video was terrific! Saved me a service call and there were no extra parts after re-assemble :-)

Henry, You may want to take the front panel off so you can have more access to the control and the wiring.

J, with the power supply turned off, the wire running from the touchpad to the main control would need to be disconnected and the door put back together enough to close the door only after power is turned back on. After 5 seconds of power being on, close the door. If the drain pump kicks on, replace the keypad WPW10078106. If it does not come on or if the unit starts a cycle on its own, the main control WPW10084142 would need to be replaced.

Vero for Model Number KUDL03FVSS0

Hello, I started a dishwasher load in a KitchenAid model# KUDL03FVSS0 dishwasher and a few hours later I noticed a burning plastic/electrical smell in the kitchen. I unplugged the dishwater and plugged it back in 5 mins later and the control panel was still unresponsive and the following LEDs were still lit: Heavy Duty, Heat Dry, Lock, Cancel, Washing, Drying, Clean. I looked at the top side of the control board and didn't see any burn marks. What do you think the problem might be? Thanks.

Vero, I would open the door and check inside the unit for plastic around the heating element. Then hit the cancel drain button and close the door and see if it drains. Let it run till it starts and see if you can start another load after you open the door.

Mike for Model Number Du1055xtvs0

My whirlpool dishwasher starts going through the wash cycle then stops mid way through. The start/resume green button blinks (continuous, no pattern) and when I open the door, the water has not drained out. I am able to press the cancel/drain button and get the water to drain out. A few times, the dishwasher has just lost all power completely (atops and all lights go out) instead of just stopping the wash cycle. When I unplug and replug power to the unit, it comes back on with the blinking start/resume light. Any ideas on what could be the issue or part that needs to be replaced? Model # Du1055xtvs0

Hello Mike. Make sure there are no loose connections in the unit. If not, then it sounds like you need to order and replace the control board on the unit.

Timothy for Model Number DU1055XTVS1

My dishwasher would start in normal with heated dry. The water would fill and then the control panel would shut off. The pump would not start. We would then push cancel and it would drain. If we pressed the start three or more times, eventually the dishwasher would start and complete a cycle. I replaced the washer motor capacitor but have the same problem. Now it will not start a drain cycle when the cancel is pushed. All of the leds light up on the control panel when I do the self test. Do you have any suggestions?

1 Answer

Timothy, Based on what is going on with your unit, this will most likely be a faulty control board if the LEDs lit up during diagnostic.

Hello Mel, You should pull the tech sheet and do the diagnostic tests listed. This will give a starting place for the troubleshooting process. The tech sheet is usually in a plastic bag behind the kickpanel.

Hello Bob, If the connections are good from the membrane switch to the control, the issue will most likely be the membrane switch W10810383 but the control WPW10285180 could also be the cause of the trouble. You should try to run a diagnostic cycle as described in the tech sheet which should be located behind the kick panel.
