For Whirlpool Dishwasher Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18056142)

Lee for Model Number 665 13469k902

When I reset control board (W10285180) all lights com on but the WASH light. With machine set at normal wash/heated dry,I get a normal fill cycle . Then starts washing, but the washing light does not come on. It seems to wash forever. The soap dispenser does open, but does not go into heated dry cycle. I think it just fills, wash, drain, fill, wash, drain. It will run like that for an hour and a half or so until I press the cancel /drain button, then it stops ,drains and turns off. Thanks for the help.

Lee, The dishwasher will run anywhere from 99 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. There are factors that go into this like the water temperature in the unit and how long it takes to heat the water to 140 degrees. The unit should have 120 degree water in the tub after fill which will reduce the time that the unit takes to heat the water to proper temp. The unit will time out of the heating process in approximately 20 minutes if the temperature has not gotten to 140 degrees. For the issue of the wash light not coming on, you will want to check to make sure that the ribbon harness from the keypad is seated properly but you may need a new control panel.

Amber, You will want to check the float switch to make sure that it is not stuck in the up position and make sure that it is good. If it is good then the issue would lie in the control board.

Hi. Thing ran fine Wednesday. Water temp was nice and hot and dishes were perfectly clean. Thursday, wouldn't start. 'Heavy', 'Normal', 'Light', 'HiTemp Wash', 'Heated Dry', 'Sanitize' and 'Lock' all lit up normally as they always have. 'Start', 'Cancel', 'Delay', 'Rinse', and 'Tough Scrub' would not function. Tried cutting power for w30 minutes, no improvement. Ran a diagnostic. All lights came on, and the thing ran thru an abbreviated cycle, bouncing back and forth from rinse to normal. When it stopped, there were no lights on at all. I opened the door, it was nice and hot, the detergent dispenser popped open as it should, and it drained completely. Any idea what is wrong with it? Thank you for your help.

Rob, There are a couple of possibilities, moisture or condensation could have gotten up in the control panel area, causing the keypad ribbon connection to fail. You may want to remove power to the machine, remove the inner door liner and check for moisture, condensation or water marks inside the control area and door liner. Disconnect the touchpad ribbon from the control board and check for corrosion on the ribbon and pins of the connector, you can claen them up with rubbing alcohol or non-residue contact cleaner.

Sheila, When replacing the board there is no way to say whether it will fail or in what length of time it may fail.

Brian, You will want to check for wiring being broken or bad. The issue sounds like the control board may be faulty and possibly the keypad.

I have a kenmore dishwaher and the normal wash cycle light is blinking. The dishwasher will not go through a cycle. I tried to unplug and maybe reset it but that didnt do anything. The sears parts guy said to try a jumper wire on the fuse on the panel, I tried that and plugged it back in and it did not do anything different, the light still blinked. I tried the heated dry .....normal wash..... heat dry.... normal wash and the dishwasher was suppose to do a diagnostic test but none of the lights light up. Just wondering what part/s you think need to be replaced........

Hello Jesse, When you have any of the keys flashing and the unit will not start this is an indication that there is a stuck or shorted key in the keypad. Try shutting power down to unit for 30 minutes and turning it back on. If this persists then you would need a new keypad WPW10137551.

Hello, I have a whirlpool quiet partner iii (Model #W10285180 ). It recently stopped working and the only light that turns on on the panel is the rinse light but it does nothing when I hit start. Additionally, when i press the cancel/drain button, it makes a rumbling sound like its working and then turns off after 1 minute. I have tried the sani rinse, heated dry sequence to put into diagnostic mode but doesnt do anything. Finally, i removed the ribbon cable from the control board and then turned back on power and doesnt work. I want to make sure I purchase the right part to do the repair. In your estimation, what seems to be the issue. Thank you very much, Chris

Chris, You most likely have an issue in the control panel/ keypad assembly, not the control board. You forgot to attach a proper model number so we can't trace circuits or supply you a wiring diagram / tech data sheet. If you remove the lower kickplate and access panel, you should find the information attached to the back of the panel, or attached to the frame. You can then reset the control board be programming the diagnostic program, and can circuit test each keypad with a multi meter.

John, If you haven't yet, you need to test the door switch [W10077360] circuits they need to "open" and "close" when the latch assembly activates and deactivates. If the door switches are OK, then replace the control board.
